I could not open the memorial page and I figured my best way to get it to VT was through the Webmaster. Just wanted to send you a quick note.

I am very sad about the tragic event that went on yesterday at VT. Also, I can’t believe the finger pointing at the schools security and police involvement. I am sure they did what they could with the knowledge that they had. I bet that if they did shut everything down at the first, and people found out it was just a domestic argument, the police and security would have been scrutinized for over acting. It’s a tragedy and maybe people just feel better pointing the finger at someone other then the person that was responsible for the massacre. My thoughts are with those families that are grieving; the families that are reuniting with their kids and loved ones; the kids, staff, and faculty that now need to put some sort of normalcy back in to their lives; and for all those affiliated with VT.

Webmaster; I am a Superintendent of a small school district in California. If you could direct this to Dr. Steger’s e-mail addres, or to one of his administrative assistants.

Dr. Steger;

My feelings and heart go out to you, and of course the student’s families involved in this tragedy.

I know that just day to day stress and strain of operating an educational institution can wear down even the strongest leader. My prayers are with you. You know your students and faculty support you. Keep up the great work of educating our young people, may God help you and bless you in the following days weeks and months. I hope these words might add to the support that all the nation is sending your way.

With millions I join in offering my condolences to your community and to the families of those who were lost, injured, and traumatized. I am also thinking of the staff working round the clock during this tragedy. I read with great sadness that many Korean-American and other Asian students fear for their safety. I was unable to access your memorial website, but I wanted to say to those students, especially, that it is clear to any decent person that the horrible acts committed by this person have nothing whatsoever to do with his racial/ethnic background. Please know that our nation grieves with all of you.

Tonight on American Idol did anyone notice that the only contestant that made any mention about what happened at VA Tech was Chris Richardson. To me he is what America should be looking for, Not only someone that is trying to make a name for himself but somebody that has compasion for those who have indurred losses such as the ones in VA Tech and their family’s. Chris is a great singer, He might not have had his best night tonight but what he said at the end of his song tonight should mean more than any song that he has ever sang.

I have been thinking about what happened at your university since I read about it last night. Words cannot convey the sadness I feel for everyone there. You are all so very close to millions of peoples hearts right now. We mourn the loss of classmates, professors, sisters, brothers, fathers, husbands and wives! I cannot begin to imagine how all of you are doing right now.

Please know that our hands and hearts are reaching out to all of you right now. Prayer is a very strong medicine and I will comtinue to pray for a healing to to begin at your school. Take care of yourselves and each other during this very trying time.

With best wishes and prayers for the almighty’s help!!

God speed.

I am so saddened about the very unfortunate set of events which I have been watching unfold on CNN. I am so very upset with the people both on TV and people in our community who think Virginia Tech did not act soon enough and if they had the other killings in Norris Hall could have been avoided. I do not believe this to be true - If this would have happened at the University of Minnesota or any other University - I believe the administration would do no more than you did. With the first incident being a domestic issue, it makes sense that one would think it were an isolated incident. All the administration of Virginia Tech, the professors, the students, the families and friends of the deceased and all the students are certainly in our prayers, as well as the family of the student who committed this act of violence. God Bless and you will get thru this with the help of God!

I had to write in to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I experienced goosebumps when I heard the terrible news on tv. I felt so much sadness when I saw everyone grieving. I will think of you and only wish that time will make it all a bit easier. God bless you all.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy & condolences in the loss of so many staff & students on Monday 16th April, 2007 at Virgina Tech. I could not believe the news when I heard it here yesterday morning.

This is something that would not be easy to recover from, but I am sure if you all support each other & work together that in time it will get easier.

Take care, kind regards.

Tradgedy--4/17/2007 copyright

It happens all the time,
There is no reason, nor rhyme.
It happens everyday,
Our Lord God put to rest, to lay.
It happens all the time,
People choose not 2love, 2commit crime.
It happens everyday,
Lonliness transferred from pain.
It happens all the time,
Why at this moment?, at this time?
It happens everyday,
When the sanctity of life gives way!
It happens all the time,
Biblical, human, societal, no rhyme, no reason. It happens everyday,

God bless you all, my wife and nine children and sixteen grandchildren and my mother and two eighty somethings aunts--have your community in the commanwealth in our prayers.
