Condolences, April 20, 2007

Our hearts are broken, for the victims, their families, friends, colleagues, and those who will not have the opportunity to know them. Our prayers cry out for them. But bolstered by the strength of the united spirit of the Hokie Nation, we know we will rise up from this horrific tragedy and perhaps be stronger yet. We never imagined that 4/16 would replace 9/11 in our minds; we never dreamed the peace and tranquility of VT would or could be violated in such a way. May you collectively find peace, Hokie Nation.

I cried when I heard of the devistation what happened on your campus.  I can only imagine the pain as I sit in my classes every day, fearul now that someone could come through that door at any moment.  But the strength I have seen through your school amazes me.  The speech that was given during your memorial by a professor there, Im sorry I do not know her name… I watched it on the computer and I stood up in tears clapping.  God Bless all of your families.  God Bless all of you.

I’m so so sorry that this tragic event happened.  It makes me sad that we are unable to feel safe regardless of venue and that there is such lack of respect for human life.  The spirit that all of you have shown the world is tremendous.  You uplift my spirits and outlook in life.  The message that you have shown to me is that although tragedy strikes, and no matter how hard it does....  You have friends, parents, strangers, just basically people out there to support you.  You will pull through this and become stronger individuals.  My condolences to all of you and your families. I pray that God will uplift your spirits and continue to heal all of you.

Stand tall, Hokies. As a Hawkeye I have suffered through a similiar but much smaller, thank God, experience.

Hold the ones you lost in your hearts and minds forever. Always remember the good things about them not how they were taken from us.

My thoughts and prayers are with the students, friends and families of Virginia Tech.

Thinking Monday would be a normal day at work, and then when i heard what had happened just filled me with sorrow.

Watching an eye witness account from Zach Petkowicz who was in one of the classes on this horrific day, made me realise just how truly terrifying this day must have been. I can not begin to imagine what it must have been like. Zach if you read this i would love to email you and have a chat sometime! I think you and the other students on that day were very brave.

God bless you all,

I am from Pennsylvania, and until Monday, I had never heard of Virginia Tech or knew what a Hokie was. Now, like most of the world, I doubt I will ever forget. Although we are strangers, I mourn for your losses, ache for your sadness, rage against the injustice that caused your pain, and also celebrate the enormous spirit that is so evident within your community. None of you are alone in this. All of us are with you in thoughts, prayers, and our actions towards others. We have become a Hokie Nation, and as I sit here proudly wearing orange and maroon, I do so in honor of the Hokie Angels and all those they left behind. You are an inspiration to all of us. You are heroes and you will remain in our hearts ... God Bless!

Great sadness is felt by countless people all across the United Kingdom towards all those who have suffered as result of the cruel attacks at Virginia Tech.  We share your pain and wish we could console you in person.  Instead I will pray that you all find a way to deal with this horrible tragedy.  Seeing all people on the university campus band together to unite made me smile.

Stay strong and don’t suffer in silence.  Get support if you need it.  Also do check up on your university friends to ensure they are coping well.  It will take a long time to recover.

God bless.

My heart mourns with you.  Even as I saw the first picture on this website showing students crying next to memorial flowers, I cried too.  The grief is heavy and hard.  My prayers go to the Father on your behalf as well.  I ask Him that beauty will replace the ashes left behind in your lives and on your campus.  Blessings and grace in Yeshua to you all!  In His name, be made whole!

No words can possibly describe the despair and sadness felt by so many of us across the country, our family amongst them.
As the mother of seven , three of which are away at college , I am reminded that safety and security for your children is never 100% possible.
I grieve for all those families , friends and classmates that have lost a precious someone.
I also grieve for the family of Cho , they too are faced with grief and despair.
I hope we all can learn to recognize the signs of someone as lost and depressed as this young man must have been , and pray that by doing so , this situation will never happen again.

You are in our daily prayers and thoughts.  Please know that everyone in the country loves you and prays for you.
