Condolences, April 19, 2007

As a nation, we should not only grieve for the ones that were taken, but we should embrace the ones that are healing physically and mentally. Let these people know that the whole world hopes that they will heal and be complete again. My family and I feel deep sorrow for the victims and the ones who love them and miss them. Know that your nation mourns the loss of the precious lives taken.

I don’t know anyone who was a victim in the massacre or even anyone who has ever attended Virginia Tech but I felt the need to do something...I read, on the internet, the information posted about each of the victims.  I felt it was the very least I could do to honor their memories, that I should know something about each one of them...that their lives did matter and they will be missed.  All of the students, faculty and families affected by this heart-wrenching tragedy are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have no direct contacts to Virginia Tech, but I am a Virginia native; my hometown is Danville. Many of my teachers and friends are graduates of your institution.  Please accept my deepest sympathy and know that you are in my prayers.

My family and I are deeply saddened by this terrible event! I am not sure why anyone would possibly do this?! The world is getting worse by the day and I am sure that everyone thinks it should STOP!!!! My grandmother and grandfather both went to VT and graduated in 1960. When they both heard of this report on the News....THEY COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!(i couldn’t either). They also said that the worse thing that would ever happen there was alcohol and people trying to sell it to you.

Sincerely, Jay

Your pain and sorrow has reached across the world and to towns small and large here in the US.  Tomorrow our small rural K-12 school in upstate NY is honoring the victims and survivors of this tragedy.  From the youngest Kindergarteners to the oldest High School Seniors, and the faculty and staff are going to wear maroon and orange.  May our small but sincere expression of our sympathy somehow comfort you and touch your hearts.

I couldn’t believe what was happening as I watched it from my T.V.  I am so sorry for all of you that had to watch it from your home, your school, your sanctuaries.  Your stories have touched the world, and now find hope in the fact that rest of the world is here for you.  May you once again find peace and security, we will all be praying for that.

As a college graduate I know the closeness of a University Campus, I know how difficult these days, weeks, months, and years will be.  And I know that with the days to come HOKIES will reclaim their spirit of pride for their school, state and country and brighter days will come.

From my family to each and everyone of VT my thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with each and every one of you.

No words exist that can express how sorry and sad I am for the tremdous loss that you VT students, parents, faculty and community members are feeling. I am still in disbelief that something so inhuman can happen in the best and most powerful Country in the World. College for me was a fun and carefree time, but this act of insanity could very well change the very atmosphere in college campuses all over the world. Like a dark cloud always in the back of your mind. But no!, that would mean Chou won, and we can’t let that happen. Right now it will be hard to stand strong in the face of such tragedy, but with time and prayer, it will hopefully get easier, and you survivors will get through it. There are millions of people praying for you, so, I join with them and pray for a sense of Peace to surround you, God’s Peace, “peace that passes all understanding”, I send you all a hug.

Dear Virginia Tech students, faculty, alumni, victims, and families of victims…
I just want to extend my deepest sympathy for you all in this horrible tragedy that has occurred. I couldn’t imagine something like this happening on my college campus, your haven, on a normal day and my heart truly feels for you all.

I know that Virginia Tech is a special place, my brother graduated from there last May and in no way does this tragedy change my thoughts or feelings of the school or its people. This could have happened anywhere, to anyone and the only
way to come to terms is to leave it in the hands of God.

People can continue to ask why did this happen and why didn’t this happen but all we can do is ask; while we pray, for healing and for the souls of those whose have been unsensibly taken.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and heart. To everyone, live your life as those who didn’t make it… couldn’t.

Please all remember the fallen even after time passes so that you will keep these special people in your hearts and minds always. Think of them down the road as well to keep their spirit alive in us all. Remember their families and the pain they are going through now. remember them too down the road. Talk of these young people and thier teachers often as the years pass and send notes to their families so that they know that they all have our support forever. Never forget!
