I am a student at California State Univ. Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and I know every student at every school is probably thinking that this could of happened to them.  This horrible crime is now going to be an eye opener to come up with solutions to try and minimize the loss in future tragedies.  I deeply am sorry for every single person at Virginia Tech and anyone else effected by this tragedy.  You wake up and go to school to learn not to worry about getting shoot and killed.  This is a horrible event and I am deeply saddened by it.

I thought a year in Vietnam during the war had hardened me to death and carnage but I have been deeply affected by the tragedy of 4/16/07. I have a 17 year old son who will be staring college next week and cannot even imagine the horror of the victims parents and loved ones. This week has been one of unbelievable sadness but as an old Hokie I can say that I have never been more proud the indomitable spirit of the students at Tech. The Hokie cheers at the convocation and candlelight service brought tears to my eyes and pride to my heart. My condolences to all. An old Hokie, Class of ‘68

To The VT Community and Family Members:
Like millions of others, I share in the shock and grief that you have experienced this week. Having lost good friends to tragic death, I know how long it can take for the reality of the situation to become real to surviving friends and family members. Please be assured of my love and prayers for your amazing community. You have shown great spirit and stregnth with the world. And I believe that your love for each other and belief that life must go on will get you through this. Be patient with one another...everyone grieves at their own pace.

I pray for all those affected by this horrible tragedy and I understand what you are going through as this happened to my school last September. I hope that the victims who lost their lives that tragic day are in peace now, looking down at those they loved. God bless you all!!

My heart breaks for all of you. Be strong. Hold each other in your arms and hearts. You are so young to have had your lives ripped apart. Those who were heros so you can live were very special people. They voted with their lives for you so you can have a chance to go on. Let their spirits and the spirits of your friends who died live on in your memories and be co-owners of the successes in your own lives, starting with the success of overcoming this tragedy. You are so young and your lives have been brutally torn open at a time when you should have been studying, having fun, experimenting with life, looking forward to the summer sunshine.

I mourn your terrible loss of innocence - the domain of the young. I pray for your resilience and strength and support as you find your way back to your path and your joy. You will be the ones to find a way to cope. We don’t know how because we’ve never experienced anything even close to this. You will write that text. We do, however, stand behind you and send you love.

I’m just a young lady from a small town in south Texas.  I’ve never even been to Virginia, and I don’t know anyone from there.
I found myself sobbing a few times since it happened.  I feel as if I miss the people that were taken out of this world, and I don’t even know them.
I can’t imagine how the familes and friends of these individuals must feel.
My heart feels ripped apart by this (even all the way over here in Texas), so I send all the love I have to anyone affected by this.

I feel immense sorrow for all of the family and friends of those whose lives were taken in this senseless tragedy.  I have a daughter of my own who attends college in another part of our state, and I go to sleep each night praying that she will stay safe and unharmed.  Why must we fear for our loved ones in a way such as this?  We must be more diligent in identifying and helping the mentally ill.  My heart goes out to the Virginia Tech community.  May you be at peace soon.
