Condolences, April 19, 2007

My thoughts and prayers are with all the Hokies and their families.  I have visited Blacksburg many times and always found the Virginia Tech campus to be a beautiful place with a warm and loving community.  Take pride in how you have come together and strength in being Hokies.

There really are no words and yet I can’t NOT say anything. I worked on a University campus for ten years and I sent my son away to college for a year. I cannot imagine what you are all going through. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

To all the VT families of those students we have lost and those who are recovering, we send our prayers and thoughts to you all.  We, parents of all children in college, HS and elementary school, can only imagine how your hearts are breaking right now.  We hope that knowing you have a world of support for you all.  This has hit home, since one of the students was from our county here in NY.  We parents have all said or thought, “Thereby the grace of God go I”.  May your many memories of your children help in your healing.

I would like to say that I am so sorry for your losses at Va Tech.  I have a friend that attends your school and I was so worried about her when I heard of the massacre.  Thankfully, she’s fine and I read her away message and she’s always saying how proud she is of her school and how much Hokie Spirit she has.  I know she’s one of many who still share the same love of their school.  I think Va Tech students are so brave.  I am so sorry that you lost your loved ones.  Please know that students at Shippensburg University are thinking and praying for you.

My heart and my prayers go out to those who lost their lives, their families, those injured and to the whole Virginia Tech family.  As young people, you aren’t supposed to have to deal with such mindless and heartless violence. It is a measure of the Va. Tech spirit that you are bonding and holding one another up.
May Our Lord comfort each and every one of you and accept the souls of your fallen professors and classmates with the love that only He can provide.  May He send his healing to you all.  You are in my prayers.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy for all who have been touched by this terrible tradgedy.

I grew up in Great Britain, have lived and worked in the United States for sixteen years and recently became a US Citizen. My heart goes out to those vicitms, who have been denied their opportunity to share in the American dream.

Twenty years ago, when I was a Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Portsmouth in the UK, I and many others were shocked by the news of a gun massacre in Hungerford in the south of England (in August 1987), when a young man named Micheal Ryan killed 16 people.

But let me tell you, there is hope, it will not be easy, but there will be healing. All of you are in the thoughts and prayers of myself, my family, friends, and neighbors.

God bless you

Sometimes, it’s hard for us to explain why things happen the way they do. Regardless of this fact, God is always there to wipe away the tears, to wipe away the pain, to wipe away the sorrow. He leaves you with a memory that you can cherish forever...As you mourn over the loss of your family, friends, and loved ones, remember that can only find peace and rest in the Lord. He is the answer to your need. Draw so very close to Him. God loves you, and we are all praying with you.....
