Condolences, April 19, 2007

My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies/condolences go out to the families and the student body affected by this tragic event.  May you remember your family member/friend/classmate as a loving, caring person.  Such a needless travesty.  Remember the fun and good times and look in your hearts to pay homage.  They are all still alive in our hearts and memories.

We talk and talk
We try to understand

the whys and wherefores
when one takes gun in hand

and takes the lives of innocents
without a second thought.

We need to make some sense
of something that does not.

We ponder and we wonder
We dissect his words and woes;

we watch the way his eyes move,
his body language, and his clothes.

We can’t understand the anger
We can’t understand his pain

He doesn’t think as we do;
that is very plain.

We have scrutinized and
torn apart
in several different ways

the things he said
the things he did
and are still left in a daze.

Here is my conclusion
for the little it is worth:

Let there be no illusion ~
Evil walks upon this earth.

We’ll never know the wherefore,
we’ll never understand,

the ramblings of a tortured soul
who takes a gun in hand

and kills so many innocents
without a second thought

We can’t make sense of something
that goes against all we’ve been taught.

So, remember them with flowers,
with candles and with prayer;

and a promise to ourselves
to tell our loved ones that we care.

My gift to all the victims: At this time of questioning why,all have gathered with grief and to cry.Of the madness that has begot this place,at the wonderment of the loss of Gods grace.In this land of milk and honey,let us not point our fingers at anybody.From the gunshop owner to the campus faculty,the constant media coverage of our human fraility.For if hindsite would have been theirs,they would have used all their powers to prevent this nightmare.To all whose lives this tradgedy has changed,a time for healing will come to ease the pain.For within each a new greatness will flow,to remember and honor all whom has fallen from this blow.As you return to walk the corridors of your school,with apprehension and that nagging feeling of blue. Please take a moment to look up to the sky, and remember truly you are not alone.For you now are standing where angels fly.  Arlene R. Gibson

In a time of tragedy and despair, it is important to unite and come together as a family to support and grieve. All of the lives that were lost, in such an untimely manner, will not be forgotten. The nation must join together in remembrance of the 32 precious lives that were taken. To the families, friends and colleagues who are grieving the loss of a loved one, my deepest and most sincere condolences go out to you. Remember those who were lost and be reminded that each and every one of them was unique, special and touched someone’s life. My life has been deeply touched with the bravery and selflessness that was shown. My prayers are with you all, stay strong, stay united and never forget. God bless!

I am a resident of Christiansburg, neighboring town of Bburg. I am in shock still 4 days later still that this has happened so close to home… You always hear “this isn’t supposed to happen here” and that is so true.....
I am so sorry for the lose you have all suffered and trauma and fear we as a community have suffered. I attend Open Door Baptist Church in Cburg who just as our name says we are open for you to find comfort prayer and hugs with lots of love.
No amount of emails, phone calls, or notes can make the pain and fear go away and I know so many officers who were there as well as employees right up to the presidents office. You can see a change in their faces, you can see what “he” did.
I saw a student who is in the hospital speak and he said he forgave because that is what Christ did on the cross.... we can learn from him as a whole.
I am so sorry and I am praying.......

From our family to the VTech families ~ Our prayers are with you. May GOD bless you, comfort & strengthen you in this time of pain & sorrow.

I think in the remembrance list the university should also add Cho’s name.I feel that what he did was totally wrong but after all he was also a young guy with aspirations.His parents have also lost a son.If possible,someone please raise this point with university people.

Instead of projecting him as a lunatic person,I think effort should be made to understand his state of mind so that such incidence should be avoided
