To all the victims, their families and the students who came so close to losing their lives:

Our very deepest condolences go out to everyone affected.  THere are no words to express our feelings in this, the saddest of situations. Those poor young people who lost their lives at the hands of someone so mentally ill, so needless.

We really feel for the parents as we are parents of college students who go to school very near where this tragedy occurred.  Tears come to my eyes constantly as I think how much in danger each young person is, when we don’t know who is among us and what they are capable of.

Again we are so very sorry.

Dear Hokie Family:

I am deeply saddened by the monumental tragedy that befell your family and send my deepest condolences to you and the families of all the individuals who lost their lives and were injured on Monday.  Certainly, a malignant an unexplainable evil was present in the young man who perpetrated this atrocity and he will be held accountable.  The Lord God will be with you as you are suffering and will not leave you.  I know that some of you will question how God could allow something like this.

Remeber that one of His greatest gifts to us was the gift of ‘free will’.  We can choose to do good or evil and the struggle between the two has been ongoing since the beginning.  However, God, the Son and the Holy Spirit will comfort you and good will prevail in the end.

God Bless and Go Hokies!!!

The Pre-school division of The Berea SDA Academy made a banner in sympathy for the families of the victims. This banner is posted on the fence for people to read as they pass by. The little ones also want us to remember the parents of the shooter in prayer; they too are hurting. The Berea School will be holding a prayer vigil on Monday when school (k - 8) resumes. We are truly in deep sympathy with Virginia Tech. This act of atrocity has darkened our sky, but God will cause the sunshine to break through again. Be of good cheer.

As a mother, daughter, sister and friend, I cannot even begin to fathom the sorrow that victims and their families and friends feel.  I look at the pictures of beautiful lives cut short and my heart breaks.  So many truly innocent lives forever affected by this tragedy.  We grieve for those we never knew and hope that our prayers reach you.  We also pray for the family of the not so innocent, as they are also victims in this senseless crime.

Dear Hokie Family, I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980.  I was a member of the VTCC in L squadron.  My father was a bugler in the VTCC band- class of ‘34. My father passed on to me his passion for life, being a Virginia Tech Hokie.  I feel so saddened and my heart goes out to the families of the slain victim’s families and also to the injured and his/her families.  I was in the Air Force ROTC at Tech.  I do have a special place in my heart for the cadet taken from our VTCC family.  I am a teacher that has taught for 25 years. I sympathize with the administration and I know it would have been hard to stop what happened.  I commend how Virginia Tech is handling themselves in this national media frenzy.  I moved from southwest Va to Lee, Maine to teach after both my mother and father passed away.  Because I am so far away from the physical Virginia Tech campus, it is very frustrating that I can not be with my family and mourn with them.  I would love to have some e-mail from VTCC alumni and present cadets and other Virginia Tech alumni and present students.  God bless our wonderful Hokies and our tight-bonding pride! I am a Hokie, and though I have always carried a sense of pride in my alma mater, my heart swells today with a pride so great, a love so deep, a bond so strong.  Together, we will carry the heavy burden of losing 32 wonderful people, for we are all a family.  We will rise from the ashes of this disaster and shine again...WE ARE VIRGINIA TECH!!!

Stay strong through these trying times...its not easy but you will pull through. We don’t always understand why things happen, we just try to learn what we can from a situation and never forget the ones directly affected.

There are heros among us everyday and I am completely in awe of the victims who lost their lives to save others. It’s because of people like this that we are able to move forward. We will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the opportunity to visit your campus several years ago for a MD/VT football game; I was truly impressed by the campus, student passion and the all round good nature of the people in your community. As I read the responses from others, and watch the details unfold in the news, my respect for the Hokie Nation continues to grow as I am astonished at your ability to stand tall in the face of such a devastating tragedy. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the rest of the staff/student body at VT. I have no doubt you will come out of this stronger than ever……

God Bless all of you!!

April 16 was a day that will sadly go down in history. I send my heartfelt condolences to all those family and friends who lost a loved one in this deadly tragedy. I also wish for all those who were injured to get well soon. This isn’t something that we will ever get over but over time it will always be in our thoughts.
