I am a Hokie from the class of ‘88.  I am having trouble finding a way to release the sadness I feel over what has happened at my beloved campus.  My prayers, and those of my entire family, are with all the students and faculty at Tech.  Please know that we are thinking of you often, and we trust that God will begin to heal your pain in the coming days.  We are all crying with you as you struggle to comprehend what has happened.  I did not lose any friends or loved ones, as many of you did, so I can only imagine the depth of your sorrow.  But our hearts are with you...we are all one Virginia Tech family and I feel that more than ever right now.  May God bless you all.

Perhaps no one here can understand
How true love and devotion

As a Korean living in US, I apologize to all Americans for the heinous, malicious mass murder at VT.

I’m very sorry for what happened three days ago and for the shooter’s package to NBC, which is more torment to the families and friends of victims.

We think of us as guests in US. And we think of Americans as generous and beneficent hosts who let us have the opportunity for a better life. So we are enormously shocked that the shooter, the cause of this monumental tragedy which has affected all Americans psychologically and emotionally, is a Korean and we feel tremendous shame and guilt.

Please know that we are very sorry and that we have been holding candlelight vigils in US and Korea for the victims and their families and friends. There will be a massive gathering for a candlelight vigil on Sunday, April 22 in Seoul, South Korea. Please know that the president of South Korea expressed his sympathy for the victims on three occations.

The victims are very much on our minds and in our hearts these days.

We hope that the injured students are on the road to recovery.

We offer the families and friends of the victims our most sincere condolences.
