We Remember…

How do you make sense
of a senseless thing
How do you confort
those who cannot be consoled
How do you answer
the questions that have no answer
When the only answer
is, “I don’t know”.

Virginia Tech, we know your pain
and walked in those bitter shoes
Today we remember our own loss
and our hearts break again for you.

Carry on Hokies!
from your fellow Okies.

Each and every one of you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Be strong for each other and know the entire nation is praying for you.  Not only am I a proud Hokie fan living and working very close to UVA, I am also a proud Virginian.  Your poise and resolve through this tragedy has shown the world how caring a small, close knit town can be.  God bless all of you!

It is surreal, a tragedy of this magnitude happenning so close to home. People I know from High School are no longer here but in a better place of no suffering.

I just want everyone here in Virginia and elsewhere to know that VT, the families, students, and faculty affected by this are in my prayers.

Please be strong, lean on your Heavenly Father for strength. He is there for you.

Keep your head up, and as it has been said, ‘We are all HOKIES’

When God created earth - Blacksburg is the image that always comes to my mind.  Eventhough I am not an alum - I have been to the campus many times and saw it as God’s country.  Even through God’s grace, evil can rear it’s head.  My heart breaks for the VT family - and even though I am not an alum - I am a diehard HOKIE fan!  Stay strong, hold tight to each other and keep the HOKIE faith.  Keep your heads held high and know that across the world - our heards and hands reach out to all of you.  God Bless You all.

To all of those affected by this tragedy, whether you are a student, a teacher, a family member, a friend, or maybe even someone like my self who has no connection to VT my condolence are sent to you.  When I turned on the news and heard about this tragedy all I could think was hopes that this wasnt true.  Over the last few days I have been deeply sadened and I can only immagine how all of those attaced to VT feel.  As some of you may know April is national poetry month; I am the reader of our announcments for our school and my literature teacher had me read a few words from Nikki Giovanni’s address. I was almost in tears trying to read her words.  I hope that everyone can over come this tragedy that has hit VT.

The fact that one person, who was in need of some help killed 32 people. My thoughts and prays go out to all connected to those who where lost. The key to this is to express that we are a nation of caring and compassionate people.  I urge those who are in a state of distress and believe they are a threat to themselves and others seek help for the sake of your own life as well as others. Destructive behavior in this world will always be there but as a nation of evolving intellectual people we should take note of the tragedy address the mistakes and try to stop this form ever happening for generations to come. I hope that by this tragedy we will gain knowledge to avert any reoccurring tragedies. Remember that tomorrow is something that we may not be granted so in you daily routine plan for the future but keep in the back of your mind today could be your last, and live that day the best you can and remember you will have an impact on others to what degree you never know till they are gone or its too late so respect and love the ones around you. May they Rest In Peace and God be with them and their families

I myself am a mother and the events on Monday have really touched me one that bone.  I have a son who is only 9 and has been talking about going to Virginia Tech since he was 7.  I will not let this prevent him from chasing his dream.  I am more determined now than ever that he attend Tech.  This will not hold him or I from making his dream reality.  If it does than this person wins and I will not let that happen.  I want to say to the parents, families, and friends that I am so sorry and will keep you in my prayers forever more. Stay strong and keep seeking solace in the family around you.  God Bless.

A day to mourn; a day to rise; we all are Hokies with a great pride.
Keep the faith that you will heal;
God will never steal your memories;
Call upon the Lord and pray for your friends;
your family, your life and feel grateful your life was spared;
You deserve peace and understanding of what a tragic loss has occured; make use of it and live life to the fullest.
Do what you’ve dreamed and truly want to do; do it for those lost and your life too.
God bless all of the Hokies families. You are all in my family’s prayers and thoughts.

It greives me that yet another tragic event of this magnitude has taken place in our country. I read the stories and can’t help crying about the losses of life of people that mean so much to others that will continually miss them. I am praying for the families and friends of those who lost people they love. We are fortunate that God knows how to help us through the times that are our most difficult and that we don’t know how to get through. I pray healing will come swiftly and the ability to keep living for those lost will take on new meaning each day.

When something happens like this, it’s often impossible to find the right words to express sympathy, sorrow, & spiritual healing. As a parent of a 5 year old little girl who will soon start school and hopefully go through college, my heart sinks sometimes. I almost don’t want to read the news anymore because it’s like everyday something else is affecting a place where our children should feel safe. Places of education are supposed to teach our children & provide examples. I’m from PA & I can remember not too long ago when that male shot all those Amish girls. I often ask myself what is wrong with people? I’m really scared to send my daughter to school. That should be a happy time for a mother but instead I live in fear of what could happen to my child. Virginia Tech is another example that puts my fears to the test. I know this isn’t about me or my daughter but this does really hit home & I do feel the effects of what this college has been put through. So from one parent to all the other parents, family, & deepest sympathy, thoughts, & prayers are with you. Even though I don’t know any of you, I will keep you in my thoughts even more this Friday.
Bless you all!
