"You never know what you have until it’s gone”
This day will be memorable for many.
This day reminds us of how lucky we are to
have people around us, who love us, who will be
there by our side to hold our hands through the
hard times.
In our thoughts and in our prayers.

It is a shame that it takes a tragedy like this to show how much we care. Forget the fact of what could have been done to prevent this. It happened and we should all take a moment to realize how precious life is and how we take it for granted and how someone’s split second decision can ruin the lives of many people and their families. This can happen to anyone of us at anytime.

Dear Families, Friends, and relatives,

Our family is grieving along with everyone at VT, as this awfull massacre could happen.  Everyone always asks the same question,” Why ?” Why does these things happen.  Innocent people are the ones who always die, and the families are left so helpless.  I wish I could hug every family member, I feel so helpless, but I watch on tv, and listen, and I thought maybe this was probably the only thing I can do. Our prayers and thoughts are with everyone, who has lost someone.

Dear All,
Even sitting on the other side globe, I can feel your pain. I really feel sorry for all victims & their families and my special condolence are with those mothers who lost their beloved children. I wish God give you all the patience and courage to bear this great pain and loss.
But American Society and their Think Tanks need to search the drivers of such evil act and there is need to eliminate those drivers which have potential to convert a student into slaughter.

To Friends, Family, and Hokies,
Words cant express my sorrow for all your looses because of this senseless act of violence. To my Family to yours like to express my deepest condolences for your loss.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Dear Virginia Tech Community,

It still does not seem real.  I’m shocked and saddened.  I did not go to Tech, but know many who did.  I have been a Tech fan ever since my sister went there in the 80’s.  I lived in Roanoke for 6 years and have had season football tickets since 1999 (the yr they played for the national title).

My thoughts and prayers, as well as the whole country’s, are with you.

May God bless you in the healing process.

I´m Henry from Brazil. We´ve never had such violence in school, however, we are all shocked and deeply sad for these families and also for the students and friends who lost these kids. We wish US, from now on, propose a new regiment on gun selling.

Brazil shares your pain, perhaps it may relief yours.

As a VT Alumni, this experience has been surreal.  To see beautiful VT with its heart bleeding and tears flowing is too painful for words.  I cry for the families, the community, the students, and for the faculty.  I pray that their hearts can heal and that their minds can rest.  I pray for the victims and trust that they are now angels among us.

Hokie pride cannot be explained. It lives in you and radiates for the world to see. I am so proud of the entire hokie family for standing up, grabbing a hand and declaring that this ludicrous tragedy will not dissipate our spirit.

The entire world of higher education is affected by this tradegy and shaken to its core.  Our colleges are a place of learning and life and to see so many lives lost and potential stolen at Virginia Tech is shocking to all of us across the country.  Our thoughts and prayers remain with those who have lost loved ones and with everyone touched by this event.
And to the Pohle family-I would not have expected to see my hometown of Flemington mentioned in this terrible news, it was shocking how far the reach of this horror can spread.  Michael will always be remembered in our hearts.

My heart aches for the families and friends of the precious, talented students and faculty who were gunned down. I pray that your suffering, anger and sadness is abated by comfort shared among each other. As a Hokie parent I deeply feel your grief.
To the VT Administration-you have given our students a wonderful, learning environment. Continue to raise the bar by searching for an intelligent deterrent to future carnage in American schools. Whether through advocating gun control or changes in laws to enable you to act when a troubled student is identified. Galvanize your students, faculty and lawmakers and lead universities in an effort to help us prevent this violence in the future.

And yet, despite this, there remains a glimmer of hope in my heart as I continue to watch, with awe and amazement, the strength and courage of the students, faculty and community of Virginia Tech.  My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with all of you as you try to cope with what has happened and try to figure out a way to move forward, never forgetting the beautiful lives of the 32 individuals lost on April 16. May God bless all of you and continue to bring you strength, courage and much love.  You are not alone.
