Although the tragedy at Virginia Tech seems like a million miles away from our tranquil setting in the green hills of Surrey, England, as educators and parents the horrific events are close to our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, employees, emergency responders, and students of your fine institution of learning. We can only imagine the grief that the parents of those wonderful young men and women are feeling, the despair of the police who are dedicated to the protection of their community, and the helplessness of the doctors who had to treat such gruesome injuries.

The students, staff, faculty, parents & administrators at TASIS, The American School in England send our deepest condolences.

Dr. James A. Doran, Headmaster

I became aware of this senseless incident when going online to do research.  I want all students, faculty and family members that even though I did not lose anyone personally in this horrific indicent I feel their pain and grieve with them and hope that they can someday find the peace of mind in the fact that while their loved ones a gone they can feel blessed that they had time with them even though it was cut short. And I know that they will never forget this but I hope that they can not let this rule their lives and control who they are and that they consider staying at Virginia Tech and can help each other heal.  I also hope that they can look at the Omnish community after their senseless school shootings and learn from them on how to put their lives back together and although they will never understand why this happened let them not live in fear for the rest of their lives.

My hearts go out to all at this school (present and past).  Those who’ve graduated, a part of you was suddenly jarred and sorrow filled its place.  Those currently there...I cannot begin to fathom the horror and pain that you now feel.  Honestly, I just do not know what to say - What can one say?

As an alumni and resident of this tremendous community; the mourning is more difficult with each passing hour, but know this, we will rejoice again as a community and proudly reflect all that we have experienced together through this tragic event.  My heart and soul reaches to those most directly affected…

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
I am the Hokie pride inside.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I, as a college student myself, feel somewhat of the heartache and pain you are feeling. No one can say “I know how you feel,” because no one does but you. I hope that in time these wounds will heal and you can move on. I did not know any of the students or faculity, but watching and reading about them makes me feel closer to them. May God or whoever you so chose to believe in help you in your times of need.
God bless you and keep you all! May those 32 angels rest in peace!

Brothers and Sisters of the Mighty ACC:
Your sorrow, grief, and loss is shared by so many throughout the conference.  We think of you, we grieve for you, and know that such a beautiful student body does not deserve this tragedy.

As a 20 year Tarheel, this week I am...with Virginia Tech.  Blessed to the lost…

This is such a terrible tragedy to befall our nation. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the family and friends of those lives lost. There is little comfort in times like this, and words can only help to ease the pain. We will keep the family and friends, and the entirety of Virginia Tech in our thoughts and prayers, as our sympathy goes out to all.

Through all of the sorrow and pain that you are experiencing, the staff, students and community at Virginia Tech are showing the world why me and my family have proudly been members of the “Hokie Nation” for many years.  My son attended football camp at your campus a few years ago because your school was and is his “dream” school.  Everything about his experience there lived up to his expectations and even under the most difficult of situations you continue to show courage and strength.  We wear the colors with you and support you in prayer and thoughts. May God bless and keep you all.  We ARE Virginia Tech!

Always in our hearts,

Words fail. Tears fail. Talk fails. Intelligence fails. What is left is raw emotion.

Please accept my deepest sympathies to all the students, faculty, friends and loved ones who are suffering the effects of this monstous crime against humanity.

I teach 12th grade and several of my students have attended Virginia Tech. To a person, the loved the setting, but most importantly, they loved the individual attention the professors gave them. Additionally, they have made life-long friends.  Some have even chosen to stay in Virgina to pursue their careers.

Thank-you for allowing us to bear witness to your deep sorrow.

I just want to share with all of you the anger that i have in my heart for this ridiculas senseless act done by this monster. Most people dont say what they really want to about others but this is the time where i must speak my mind....Here i am a 23 year old young woman with one child and working for a great company but always wishing in the back of my head that I should have went to college....It has always made me happy to see anyone doing what I should have done. (Went to college)But here is this young man who had all the opportunity in the world to become something that could change the world and he (for lack of a better word) screws it all up...To the family of the victims...I have so much love for you all and I share your pain....Just remember this monster is no longer on this earth and your children, sisters, brother, cousins, aunt, and uncles are all remembered as the ones fighting for a right to receive their well earned education just by waking up that morning to learn...I love you all...God Bless you all.
