Condolences, April 19, 2007

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
(Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

I just want to let everyone know you are all constantly in my prayers. My heart just breaks for everyone affected by this horrible act, and I just pray that you will turn to God for comfort in this horrible time. Not much can make it better right now, but just know that God is there and that people all over this country and all over the world are thinking about you and praying for you. May God comfort you and may you feel His undying love.

To all the victims of Virginia Tech - we will never forget you.

To all their families and friends, please let the knowledge that the entire world is sharing in your grief help you in this extraordinarily difficult time.

What an awful, cruel, senseless loss of young and beautiful lives.  And to the professor who sacrificed his life for his students - you are the definition of a hero.

"Dear Lord, bless the families of the ones who have been murdered.  Comfort them and lift them up.  Help them to cope with this tragedy.  Help the students who attend Virginia Tech University.  Bless them and comfort them.  Help them to feel safe and to concentrate on their studies.

Help people to consider You right now.  Let us turn to You for healing.  Thank you for being faithful and good.  Thank you for giving us eternal life in Heaven, when we repent and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.  Thank you for the promise of Heaven and eternal life with no more tears or suffering.

Help the teachers and administrators at Virginia Tech.  Let them consider You and give their students a faith-oriented response to this tragedy.  Help them to feel safe and to give the students loving, God-centered counsel.

Praise You for being bigger than our problems.  Help us to trust in You, Lord.  Be glorified through this tragedy and bring more people to You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

My thoughts and prayers goes out to VT, the community, family and friends of the loved ones lost in this great tragedy. I am from West Virginia and our state suffered a tragedy back in the 70’s when the entire Marshall University football team was killed in an airplane crash. Our state has a feeling of what your all going through. I graduated from WVU (West VIrginia University) and remember the spirited rivalry we had with VT, now the Mountaineers of WVU and Thundering Herd of Marshall stand behind you in this time of need, and the entire state of WV will keep you all in our hearts. Today we are VT!!! God bless you all.

This is a timely reminder that people need to look out for others, no one should ever be a loner or left out of groups. Step out of your comfort zone and lower yourself to include all people in your daily life, even if you don’t really get on, be kind, humble your self, don’t be proud.
You are all in our thoughts and prays in Australia, we share and know your pain.
All of this was caused by a piece of metal....and proud people not being friends with someone who really needed your friendship.

As a member of the Hokie Nation, it’s so difficult to watch these images on TV of a campus that’s so familiar.  To see buildings where we’ve lived and attended classes become the center of such an awful crime scene is almost too much to fathom.

On the other hand, it is so very inspiring and uplifting to see the VT community come together in such a way.  As Hokies, we wouldn’t accept anything less, but it has inspired the country and the world to rally around us as well.

We all are thinking of all of you on the Tech campus and in Blacksburg and all of the victims and their families.  Heaven has 32 new angels.

Hokie Love,

I want you to know how very sorry I am that this happened; as much for the loss of life, of these wonderful young adults, as for the cross the survivors will bear the rest of their lives. Especially the parents, my heart goes out to them, as they and their loved one’s siblings will suffer the worst; I know from experiance! A song that went through my head, when my son died, was by Smokie Robinson: “Take a good look at my face, You’ll see my smile looks out of place, look closer cause it’s easy to trace, the tracks of my tears”. God bless you all.

The loss of such precious individuals is beyond our comprehension. We pray that God will sustain each and every person affected by this situation and that somehow and in someway his peace and presence will be felt. God bless and keep all of the families, friends and Virginia Tech community.
