very tragic, what happened, but can you tell me where are the souls of the folks who died?in short, without jesus christ you will not make it to heaven!!i know this sounds crude, but lets face it thats life!you have to be ready to go at any time of your life.only jesus, who died for your sins can take you to heaven.john 14:6 says"i am the way, the truth ,and the life,no one comes unto the father ,but by me”.trust JESUS as your savior today--you will never be sorry!!!

Dear Hokie Nation,
You did not deserve this senseless act and the young victims did not deserve to die in such a way. I grieve for you and the families.
Don’t let this maniac take away your power. Take action.

Know and understand gun control issues and lobby for better laws.
Immortalize the victims not the killer.
Tell your lawmakers that educators, employers and even parents need “probable cause” laws to get these lunatics out of their enviromements.
Mentor young children against bulling and coveting “things” over people to prevent the growth of the disenfranchised.
Reject gratuitous violence in your entertainment.
Ensure that your univeristy appropriates as much money for counseling and security as it does for athletic events.
Tell your story and make a difference, you are the Hokie nation, 26,000 strong and it can start with you....

While words cannot express the grief our nation feels for those who lost their friends and loved ones, please know that each of you is in our prayers.  In the days to come, there will be those who want to continue with a blame game.  To honor the spirit of those who were lost, please understand that no group or individuals are to blame here.  A very disturbed person committed these acts that no one could have predicted.  Follow the advice of VT Professor not share in the guilt.

Typically when something bad happens, we like to try and find a justification.  However, I am struggling so much to find the good that will come out of all of this.  However, I think it is important that we not be selfish at this time.  We have the liberty of doing something even as simple as typing on a keyboard that 32 members of our great community do not have.  For that, I will always be grateful.  Thank you Ross, Jamie, Brian, Ryan, Austin, Jocelyne, Kevin, Matt, Caitlin, Jeremy, Rachel, Emily, Matthew, Jarrett, Henry, Liviu, G.V., Partahi, Lauren, Daniel, Juan, Minal, Daniel, Erin, Michael, Julia, Mary, Reema, Waleed, Leslie, Maxine, Nicole.  May you rest in peace.

To all the Virginia Tech students, faculty, and families: As a former Tech student and member of the Corps of Cadets I have a special place in my heart for VT.  I was devastated by the events of Monday and am still trying to come to terms of how something like this could happen at the peaceful campus I remember.  I now realize that the Hokie Nation has suffered a great loss, but we will overcome and like the phoenix rising from the ashes, we will rise above this and become greater than we were before.  My prayers go out to all those affected and the extended Hokie family.  God bless all of you.

The greatest testament that we all can give is to live our lives with the beauty and strength that the men and women who were tragically taken on Monday lived and would have continued to live.  As their stories have emerged - about their courage, their accomplishments, and their dreams- millions will garner inspiration and be moved.  I have been moved and those men and women will not be forgotten, nor will the tremendous resiliency and spirit of the Virginia Tech community.  There are no words to express my sympathy for the unimaginable loss of the friends and family.  Thank you for the courage you have displayed to the world.

Virginia Tech and Families,

You have my Sincerest condolences and prayer,

Dear Lord,

We remember this day before thee thy faithful

servants; and we pray that, having opened to them

the gates of larger life, thou wilt receive them

more and more into thy joyful service, that, with

all who have faithfully served thee in the past,

they may share in the eternal victory of Jesus

Christ our Lord; who liveth and reigneth with

thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,

forever and ever.

First and foremost my sympathies and prayers go out to all of the students at Virginia Tech and their families.  A tragedy of this magnitude saddens the hearts of all.  As a teacher, I would have expected no less of the Professor who put his life ahead of students. Go forth in your lives knowing that all who were killed will be remembered and prayed for. Continue to be proud of your school, stand together, and use peace to help you get through your pain. God Bless all of you, your families, and your educators. Sandra Swartwout, West Seneca Central Schools

On behalf of myself, all the academic staff and students of the University of Pardubice, I would like to express our deep sympathy toward the victims of the violent act of April 16, 2007 at your Polytechnic University of Virginia.
This was a tragic loss of young lives, talented students who were preparing themselves for their careers, in order to fulfil their personal and professional dreams. Their death deeply touched not only their families, friends and your academic community, but all of us here at the University of Pardubice.
Higher education institutions help to spread goodwill, tolerance and understanding on behalf of democracy and freedom - the commonly respected values we want to promote. The violent act at the Polytechnic University has broken these qualities by such an unprecedented tragedy.
We share with you our deepest sympathy and regrets in these difficult days of grievance.
Most sincerely,
Professor Jiri Malek
Rector of the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic

This all seems like a horrible nightmare.  Violent video games, TV shows, antidepressant drugs, combined with a sick mind to produce one of the most frightening massacres of the 21st century in the United States, next to 9/11.  My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.  I know you students, faculty members, and administrators will come together at a time like this to support each other and help each other through these dark hours by showing one another the love, tolerance, and respect for human dignity and individual worth that are the highest calling of our nature, and fight off the temptations of evil dispositions.
