Stay strong, this is the time where you need to be the strongest, for the families, for your friends and for yourselves.
Don’t ever give up, and don’t let this make you weaker, but let it make you stronger.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and friends of the victims of this horrible tragedy.

To everyone at Virginia Tech and their families.

It is hard to adequately express the shock and horror everyone in England felt when the news of the shootings broke. I just feel a personal need to make some attempt to reach out to my fellow human beings with love and condolences. I wish there was something tangeable that I could do to help deal with the pain you must all be feeling but there isn’t. Just know that you are not alone and not forgotten.

April 19, 2007, 5:05am • Burnley, Lancashire, Great Britain • #27329

We are not alone.  WE may be at the highest peaks or the lowest darkest dungeons but we are not forsaken. For in the midst of tragedy and amoung the dark there is our saviour. For he holds out his hands in the dark for us to hold, so Christ can lead us back into the light.

WE must not show anger and hate for these are the tools of evil.Compassion, love and humility is what we must show.

Blessed are those who mourn
so they can be comforted.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.

i wish to convey my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all Virginia Tech students and staff, and especially to those families who lost sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.  i cannot begin to comprehend the pain that you are going through.  but just remember, most of the people of this nation, and the staff and students (at least those i’ve spoken to) of Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead, MN) grieve with you, and pray for your strength, and if we could give you our strength, we most certainly would.

It is strange for me to cry for people i never met
but is what i’m doing;they were young and students, like me.I have no words. can only imagine the desperation of all of the guys who lived this tragedy, and the fear they felt. It’s impossible to accept that so many guys are died in this way. I think the best way to honour and remember this boys and girls is doing our best in life and make it never happen again. I’m very sorry for what has happened.
I actually thought that this could have happened to anybody of us students here in Germany at the University of Cologne too - and I don’t know what I would have done then.
I’m sorry for everyone who has lost a loved person.

April 19, 2007, 5:11am • Perth, WA Australia • #27351

I’m 17 from Brisbane, Australia. Like many of you, I can’t believe what has just happened. It was such a pointless thing to do, I don’t understand how someone could do this. I’m sure you all know this, but I want to reassure you that the world grieves with those who have lost their friends and family. Australia experienced almost the same event in 1996 in the state of Tasmania, however the death toll was 25.
What happened on Modnay was such a heartbreaking act, I truly hope the gun possession laws get a second review, so many innocent lives were lost.

I’m sorry about what happened.

My Fellow Hokies - let’s stay strong, continue to build on the tremendous foundation down there in the Burg, and rise up above this misfortune.  It amazes me at the support that we have received from across the globe and shows you just how precious life is and how respected our great university is.  Rise up and live strong.

We pray that this shadow will pass and that the students of VA Tech and all the students of Virginia will overcome their own struggles, and be able to take only the good and positive memories with them into their futures.  We pray for the victims, families and their friends that they will be guided by the light of hope.  Like so many other survivors of tragedy, that they will be able to move forward and be internally motivated to do something phenomenal.

As Richard Nixon once said, “Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.” We pray for all, that they will be able to thrive on their sustaining strength to reach the top of their highest mountain.

With much prayer and love,

The family of William, Amy and Ryan Lopez, originally from Norfolk, VA
