I am currently stationed in Korea with my family, and the nation here is grieving with us as well.  Please take this time to learn to respect the differences in one another and embrace each other as humans.  It seems that only through tragedy do we as a nation worship God, with no objections and hold hands together regardless of race, gender, or religion.  Do not let the unity we have right now go away, pass it on to others so we can truly be an example of P-E-A-C-E

I am deeply sorry for what happened. I cannot fathom how this could happen to such wonderful people. Please keep the faith & know that there are millions of people out there thinking of all of you in this time of grief. Hold your head up & continue the way you were - do not let this get you down - please take the time to mourn & know that good will prevail…
I send my condolences to all the families that lost loved ones, I know that no words right now can heal the pain but please remember that they are with you, they are only a door away - that is a door into the next life & you will meet them all again when your time on this earth has come to an end.
Even though I have not met any of the people that lost their lives, their families or the VT family I hold you all in my heart & my prayers & wish you all the healing, strength & support that you all deserve…
On behalf of the McHugh Family from County Donegal, Ireland & on behalf of the Irish all over the world, I send condolences, hope & love.

I want to send my condolences and sympathies to the families and friends who have lost someone close to them. It is ashame on how these events turned out and that nothing was done to prevent this knowing that this guy was a known problem to begin with. A lot of wonderful people have lost their lives over stupidity and ignorance. I hope that as each day goes on that all the loved ones and friends of those who have prematurely perished will get through this and move on because your loved ones would want you to do just that. It’ll be a tough road to get through but we will all pray together one day at a time.

My deepest sympathy to all Parents, Students and University staff of Virginia Tech. Let it be known that this unbearable tragedy does not have borders and that the world as a global village is also sharing your grief, pain and sadness.
I am a french citizen living in New York and one of my daughter is presently a University student in Rhode Island.
please find a Buddhist quotation that I have found very appropriate , but it is in french . it is dedicated to all the victims and in particular the french teacher .

« La compassion pure est un état d’esprit pour qui la souffrance des autres est insupportable, mais elle ne nous rend pas déprimé. En fait, elle nous donne cette énergie formidable qui nous fait agir pour les autres et accomplir pour leur bien la voie spirituelle. »

Dearest Hokies,

A few days ago we were all individuals with separate agendas. Today, we stand as one. My thoughts and prayers are will all of you. After an act like this prayer has a deeper and bigger meaning for all of us. Together, all we can do is press forward and remember the fallen for who they were but none of us will do it alone.

Words can not express the sadness I feel for all of you at Tech.  As I read bits and pieces about those lives lost, I see myself...I see my fiance...I see my friends...I see my family.  I can not fathom the pain you are feeling right now and pray that you find comfort.  I will wear Orange and Maroon on Friday with pride.  Insignificant collegiate rivalries will forever be put aside to remember and honor those lost, those still with us, and those seeking answers to such a senseless tragedy.  In the dark times, do not forget the support and prayers that are lifted up for you and do not be afraid to ask for help.  You are not alone.

As I drove through WVU’s campus today, I witness something I have never seen before during my years as a student.  Dozens of Virginia Tech shirts and jerseys were displayed in rememberance, love, and support for all of you facing this tragedy.  This is just a small example to let you know that people really do care.  I hope knowing that you have such steadfast support will help...even if its a little bit.

May God Bless all of you at Virginia Tech, now and in the coming days.

With sincere sorrow, prayers, and love, from your friend and neighbor in West Virginia,

To All of the Virginia Tech Employees, Faculty, Students and their families, My deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you during this dark hour. I read the profiles of those lost to this senseless tragedy and could not suppress thoughts of, “what ifs...”. What bright, talented and gifted people we no longer have with us. I have known a few Hokies in my time, they are strong and view those at VT as their second family. I am sure the Hokie Pride will help you through this time. Until then just know others are grieving with you. GOOOOOOOOO HOKIES!
