From the middle of the continent, we are with you in mourning.  We share your disbelief and shock at the senseless loss of so many promising lives.  We pray for your peace, and eventual healing from the pain and loss you feel.  Know our prayers are for you and all those near you who are hurting too.  May God Bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you, and give you peace.

Being a parent of a son, who attends the technical college in New Hamphsire… I send my condolances to all the studendts, teachers, parents & family members of the men and women that were taken from this world so early in their lives… Not only will they be missed, but to think of what they all would have accomplished to help this world, will never be.. and that is whatsaddens me. I pray that a tragady like this will make the government see the changes that need to be made in our country so that our students can accomplish their dreams they set out to do, and turn this society around.
May God help you through this time, and my prayers are with you all.

I can’t imagine what the campus and community must be going through at this difficult time.  Being that I work at a college campus I do know the strong bond each student, faculty, staff member shares with one another.  It is an extended family and I pray that you all will lean on each other for support and lots of hugs.  Know that you are strong and time may heal the wounds, but we should never forget those that lost their lives.  I wish there was something more I could do, to be of comfort to someone, but if VT decides to build a memorial I will be one of the first to donate.

I know no words will ever really truly help the grief, but perhaps these might bring a little comfort for some.
Perhaps they are not really stars in the sky…

Perhaps they’re openings in the heavens where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.

For all those that lost someone, know they will forever look down on you and be in your heart always.

we live on faith:
regardless of religious beliefs, we all need something to cling to.

cling to the knowledge that many, many souls are thinking of you all.
that many souls are thinking of those lost---
that many souls are faithful to your hearts.

How can something like this happen? There are no words that can describe these awful events, there are no words that will comfort those who are bereaved. The only thing there is, is time. Time to heal and time to realise that this world needs to be changed and laws need to be changed so that we are protected as much as we can be from those who wish to harm innocent people. My heart goes out to all those who are suffering, along with my love for a brighter tomorrow. As human beings, we cannot allow this to happen again, anywhere in the world. Rest in peace, all of you.

The words of Pope John Paul II in 2001 come into our minds and have more sense than ever:

“Those who believe in God know that evil and death do not have the final say…

Let us beg the Lord that the spiral of hatred and violence will not prevail. May the Blessed Virgin, Mother of Mercy, fill the hearts of all with wise thoughts and peaceful intentions.

... For the brothers and sisters who met death in the madness of violence, that they may find in the peace of the Lord their certain joy and eternal life, and that their dying may not be in vain but the leavening for a new epoch of brotherhood and collaboration among the peoples”.

Our deepest condolences for the families affected in this tragedy. Our prayers are with you All. God bless you!

I morn the loss of the victims & their families…
What I saw ,last night, at the candle lit memorial
was a tearful yet “joyous” celebration.. We never give enough credit to the young..They demonstrated
that the tragic shootings will not stop them from staying there and getting an education… There’s going to be a lot of tough times ahead and of course,a number may just chuck it in but most will
go forward and graduate from Tech… When more details come in you’ll see more of the heroic effort students and faculty made to save others.. So many put others ahead of their lives to save lives…

We the “USA” have many faults but it’s the greatest country known to mankind..In weeks ahead,
there will be blame and finger pointing about shoulda, woulda, coulda but what I saw was a tragic event in a tragic situation.. Around the world countries put blame on our so called “violent” country.... They should take a good look
inside their own… Blame the “US” for everything.
The shooter put blame to everyone but himself.

We must not forget the “Constitution of The United
States.” Not a perfect document but the best one
in the world..... Go on, go forward “Hokies.”

To the family, friends and community of all those who died and were injured at Virginia Tech,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I realize that the sorrow I am experiencing is only minute compared to the overwhelming and profound sorrow being felt by the family, friends and college community. My heart is breaking and my prayers for healing will continue. My heart is breaking that such a tragedy has occurred, but also my heart is breaking because of the loss to our worldwide community of so many talented human beings- human beings who were and would have been contributing so much to all of us. My heart is breaking for all of the families as I reflect on how their lives are forever changed.

My deepest sympathies and prayers are with your entire community as you and we all struggle to make sense of a senseless act.  Let your community comfort you.  Lean on those who can be strong and pass it on - be a shoulder for someone who is grieving.  None of you will get through this without each other and the millions of prayers being sent to you from all over the country and the world.

For those of you who have lost what is supposed to be the best years of your life,

May you all see that the outpour of sincerity is coming from all over the world.  To hear of such devastation, is uncomprehendible.  You are not alone in this mourning process.  We all have lost future doctors, lawyers, writers, etc..When we look to one another for strength during this healing process, remember to feed off the outpour from the rest of the world.  We will all stand together, and you may cry on us whenever you would like too.

Hoping you a speedy recovery and the families of the victims to find solace in one another.
