I would like to share my condolences from myself, family, friends & college community. I’m a British male who is very deeply saddened as i always love every year when i get to visit America which i find is such a warm welcoming place for me. I couldn’t believe the news when i heard it on our local BBC news. I’d like to say i’m deeply sorry to the families that have lost a loved one it’s something that would be hard for them to even understand what’s happened. In England we never have such crimes within’ a educational area but we are opposite with knife crime which isn’t near the extent to that of VT.

We all send our prayers and thoughts out to the victims, families, friends and the students/staff of VT. We will remember these people that were working for a better future because they shall never be forgotten. GOD BLESS VT!!

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free

To the victims of this horrible tragedy, we pray that God keeps you by his side.  For the families of those killed, we pray that God gives you the courage to continue living.  Your children were not in the wrong place at the wrong time.  School is not supposed to be a wrong place.  The shooter was in the wrong place.  We will hold you in our prayers and offer our sincerest condolences.

It is not just the deaths that are the tragedy,
There has also been a murder of potential.
These students one day could’ve discovered a cure,
Or Became President of the U.S.A.,
They would’ve gotten married, had kids…
They would’ve had a chance to grow old with whom they love.
But tragedy cut their lives short,
And we will continue to pray for everyone forever and ever, and keep them in our hearts.

Being a graduate of Virginia Tech, my heart is so overwhelmed with grief.  I cannot even begin to explain how profoundly sorrowful I feel for the victims and their families.  My deepest and most sincere thoughts and prayers are with the families and with all of my fellow Hokies who were each touched by this tragedy.  I know that the God of peace through our Lord Jesus Christ will bring us through this difficult season.  He is bigger and greater than this situation, and my prayer is that all those sharing in this grief will come out only to be stronger.

May God’s blessings and peace be with you all.

As graduates of Virginia Tech, my wife and I were sick to our stomachs as we watched the campus and town that we love so dearly be thrust into the international spotlight for all the wrong reasons.  We were saddened as the number of dead and injured climbed.  We were crushed to hear that the killer was one of our own.

Yet we are proud as we hear the interviews and stories of heroic students and faculty, and the way family and friends speak of them.  We are humbled by the massive outpouring from people all over the world.  And we are hopeful, as powerful images from the Convocation and Candlelight Vigil fill the TV and spread across the internet, proving the strength and resilience of the Hokie Family.

If this were any other school, any other campus, this would be a horribly sad event.  But to have it happen in and near buildings you know so well; and for it happen to people that are part of the VT family, it’s heartbreaking, and our true feelings cannot be put into words.

Our thoughts, tears and prayers go out to the families of the deceased and injured.  May the dead rest in peace, and may the injured come back stronger than before.

We are Virginia Tech.  We are Hokies.  We WILL survive.  God Bless.
