To victims families, students and faculity of VT,

I just wanted to share how deeply sorry I am for your loss and tragedy.  No words can comfort a parent at this time and no amount of prayers can releive the ache in their hearts, but I just wanted to share my sympathies with all of you and let you know how sorry I am.  The departed have touched the face of their God and he/she has taken away their pain.

One of Many. I am one person out of millions that are grieving for each victim and thier family today. The world is in shock over this tragedy. All I can say is that somehow, someway, God will get each of you thru this, and will be glorified. Your beautiful sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are feeling no pain right now. They are no longer subject to the tragedies of this world. They are walking with God, looking down on us, ready for the football season to start. May God bless you all…

My heart is crying when I heard the news.
Nobody want to see such a tragedy. Such tragedy is so hard to predict.
What shall we do to make this world better and less pain?
May God accept all the victims to his kingdom and heal our pain.

My heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

Some of my best memories come from my life at Tech, dedicated to learning, working, and enjoying my time with other fellow students and faculty. Now, I feel sad, and my heart aches to think of the terrible times people there are going through.
Please let us know if and how we can do anything to help.

To those that will remain, honor the memory of those lost and wounded and never forget.
May time heal those wounds and let those that are not with us anymore see you enjoy life again.

My best wishes to all of you

As VT alumni with tremendous love and loyalty for our alma mater, my husband and I have been deeply moved by the maturity and courage which you as students have displayed, both in the media and in private moments with each other.  In a day and age where email, IM, and text messaging are king, I have often wondered if these tools are stunting our social growth; now I see that this is simply not true.  The human element is alive and well, as shown by your immediate unity with one another, and your unwavering loyalty to the university and its administrators.

I have never been more proud to be a Hokie - please know that VT alumni across the country, while shocked at the events, are proudly telling everyone they know, “I am a Hokie.”

With deepest sentiment,

I would like to express my deepest condolences to everyone affected by Monday’s events.  My prayers and sympathies right now are with the entire academic community of VT, their families, and the community of Blacksburg.  I think one of the things that makes this the most sad is that it happened in the acadmeic community - a place that is supposed to be a beacon for enlightenment, self-bettering, a safe place for diversity and opinions, the future of our world and perhaps those who will one day come up with the answers on how to make the world a better place.  I think perhaps the most amazing story of all is of Professor Liviu Librescu, 76, was a Holocaust survivor who self-lessly sacrificed his life by blocking the door and asking his students to flee so that they migh have a chance at life.  This man is a true hero.  His courage should be embraced and remembered, because it’s stories like these that offer a glimpse of hope in a time of tragedy and show that there is still some good left in this world.  Hokies, may God grant you peace, understanding, and the strength to overcome.  God Bless you all.

I know this will upset some, but I also feel badly for the family of the killer. This must be such a devastating experience for them to know that their child was capable of such violence and hatred.
