To all the families and friends of the VA Tech students.  Our deepest condolences to you and your families.  It is such a tragedy when someone is taken away from you.  As time goes by, with everyones support you will heal, but still feel the emptiness inside.  When i get like that about my cousin, I listen to Kenny Chesney..."Who you’d be today”.  Our hearts and prayers are with you.

I am here to express my deepest condolences to those who lost friends, family and have been injured by this tragic event. This world sometimes rears its ugly head and shows us the reality of emotion and how it can be a factor in the lives of many. I hope through this tragedy we learn to not fear those who do such things, but to embrace them and ask the great being in the sky to forgive them for what they have done, and give their soul mercy even though they had shown none.
In the future, i hope we can learn to see the signs of this type of thing and stop it before it happens. I implore all people who think someone is emotionally distraught to take it very seriously and give them the attention they deserve to avoid such a tragedy again. This can be avoided if we open our hearts to those we beleive have been deprived and help them live a life of fulfillment and happiness instead of anything else.
Lastly no one but the shooter is to blame for this. I hope the focus on this tragedy leads to more solutions, not finger pointing. To the staff of VT and those who fought against this to save thier lives and the lives of others, you are hero’s in my mind.
Action in the face of tragedy is the true spirit of heroism.

Indeed we are all Hokies right now...although there is nothing that will entirely ease your grief as a campus and as a community, please find some solace in the love and prayers of all those who have posted supportive messages here.  My family, friends and I add our prayers and support as well.  As the grieving process continues, may peace settle on your campus, in your homes, and in your hearts.  Blessings on all who mourn this tragedy.

With hope,

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims, their families, the student and faculty and all Hokie alumni during this time of grief and tragedy. It hurts my spirit to witness events like this and the only thought I have is ‘Why?’I hope that the Virginia Tech community, the victims and their families and the nation can begin to heal from this tragedy and to focus on better days to come. I am so very sorry this happened.

I was involved with the challenge of the September 11th outcome in NYC. While my heart goes out to the VT community and those involved, I find myself wanting to get involved with the outcome of this tragedy. I believe that a memorial of some kind should be erected on site to remind future students how precious life is, and the heroes that this situation brought out, such as Dr. Librescu. I would like to donate any and all engineering services from my company in this effort. Please email for contact info.

As a senior college student at Bloomsburg University, I cannot begin to imagine if similar events occurred on our campus. This is something that could have happened anywhere at anytime and I’m sorry you have to go through this. I just want you all to know that you have immense support from schools all over. Our school had a “moment of silence” yesterday with ringing bells in memory of all those involved in this tragedy. VA Tech will not be remembered as the school with a tragedy, but instead as a community of strong and proud people who are unbreakable. God be with you always and forever and we’ll never stop praying for you and your families.

VT is filled with so many brilliant people and I give you and your families my sympathy.

I wrote this poem after going through grief and not being able to sleep.  Maybe it will help someone here who is grieving.

“Ghosts of my soul”

Ghosts of my soul
Haunt me tonight
Getting louder in the later hours
Faces come by
With grins and words of wisdom
Seeking to give me peace

Time doesn’t stop in the wake of the night
The moon is not my friend
There was something I forgot to tell you
I would have stopped you that day if I could
But another day wasn’t ours

Night moments scream on
I somehow have to breathe
And pray that the gracious sun will rise

Everyone in Georgia are praying for everyone envolved in this awful tragedy. As a mother of four children, i want to hold my children a little closer, and thank God that they are safe and that i still have them. I feel the deepest pain for all the parents that lost their children. I hope that with God’s help they can make it through this horrible time. I know nothing you could say to them could really help. But i would just like them to know that they are in our hearts and prayers, and that we really feel for them in the deepest way. I would do anything to be able to give them their children back. But all i can do is pray for them. God Bless everyone that has been affected and all the people that helped out.

Virginia Tech

Such a sunny day not a cloud in the sky
Why did these 32 people have to die?
Amidst all the carnage and a blood-bathed classroom
They look up to the skies, stand tall, and search for a way through.
With questions unanswered the people are confused
and they are looking for guidance on what to do.
I know I wasn’t there to go through it all
But seeing those faces on T.V. just seemed to make me fall.
The police running around trying to get in
To stop the madness, to stop the unwanted sin.
The teacher tried to stop it by blocking the door,
but instead, he ended up dying on the classroom floor.
I shall not go on for I do not know what all the people went through
But here is my advice for all of you
“Keep your heads up looking to the skies
For He is always there to help you through tough times.”
I’ll keep your friends in my heart and in my prayers
And know that they’ve all gone to where the land is so green and fair.

William Baker Jr
