Mt condolences to ALL during this trying time. This event has not only affect the university, but the world. We mourn for the loss of life, security, trust and dreams unfilled. This should remind us ALL to be thougthful, kind and loving to those we love. This should remind us ALL to take immediate action when we smell danger or since fear, regardless of rules and regulations in place, make new ones!  Live, Love, and Laugh to the fullest!!

To Virginia Tech students, parents, and faculty/staff:

Where are the words, and where lies the ability to articulate an emotion in such a way as to formulate a verbal embrace? I wish I knew the way. For now, these thoughts will have to suffice.
You are strong and beautiful, and these wounds will only make you more fortified in the face of these tragedies. Throughout the coming days and weeks of hardship and hurt, know that this entire nation--millions upon millions--have shed tears for you and with you. Not one of you is alone at this hour, and not one of you is left without empathy and compassion in this time of need and grief.
Though no reasoning can make this event easier to comprehend, the reasoning of your collective spirit and your perseverence is clearer than crystal.
You “are Virginia Tech,” as one speaker put it, and now, we join you in a mixture of sorrow, compassion, and hope. God bless you all, and may grace and peace be with you at this time.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the entire Virginia Tech community, especially to the families and friends who have lost loved ones in this terrible event. People always say that we have strong school spirit which is often on display at Lane Stadium on fall Saturday’s. However, I have never seen that spirit displayed as strong as it has been in the past 2 days. As a 1997 grad, I have never been more proud to be a member of “Hokie Nation.” We will never forget April 16, 2007.

In the depths of the saddest shadows of our soul we stride out hand in hand in unison towards the goal of normalcy in the future.
The end of the days of mourning are blind to those with wet cheeks, but our combined strengths will carry on past minutes, days and years.
with reflecting minds and sorrowful hearts we march forward with the chant in our mouths.

As the mother of a former VT student and mother of an RA at Longwood University, I can only imagine what the families of these young people are going through. We are a military family and have anxious moments often, but it is difficult to comprehend the horror of this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at Virginia Tech.

We have read the names and now can put faces on these heroes and it makes this so much more sad.  We seem so far away from this tragedy but as we are hearing more about these brave people who senselessly lost their lives, it brings reality to it for us.  Our family and everyone in Iowa, especially Letts, Iowa, are thinking of the families-you are all in our prayers.  And to the survivors, keep your chins up and rise above this and you will be stronger for it.

To All,
They say that there is meaning in everything, moments like this that is hard to accept. Although the pain is extreme and the hearts of you and our nation hurt, in time that pain will subside. God is here. He is standing next to you all. Be patient with yourselves, the grieving process is lifelong. There is no wrong way to feel or to grieve. You don’t have to move mountains today. All god requires you to do is breath. Accept our prayers and our love for you all.
With all the love,

I’ve watched the news over the years and saw so many tragedies at schools, malls, homes and just daily life; but none have prompted me to reach out as this one has. The previous tragedy’s victims were always in my thoughts and prayers.  I suppose that when you are personally SURVIVING your own tragedy in midst of someone else’s tragedy, mortality, priority and reality are now all forefront of all else.

We at Neslo Ventures,LLC send our most sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.

Never Forget Virginia Tech

Hearts are broken
Tonight we cry
How could this happen
Why oh why?
Students and staff
With lives wiped away
Unknown answers -
As we mourn and pray
Stunned by a madman
Lives torn in two
Happened so fast
There wasn’t a clue
Two lives taken
No warning at all
Two hours later
More than thirty did fall
Bullets rambling
No matter the age
Downed by a lost soul
Acting out his rage.
With God beside us
Tonight we cry
So many loved ones
Having to die –
Don’t know the reason
As we felt the affect
We will never forget
Lives lost at Virginia Tech.

©Sylvia Allison

As through life we are blessed with loved ones and friends -
Through unknown reasons tragically it ends.
God be with each and everyone of you as you grieve and mourn these lives lost. Hold on to the promise you will meet again.
God Bless

Today we are all Hokies! We raise our children to beware of strangers and to avoid situations that may be dangerous, we push them to strive for greatness and pray that they listen. We hope they choose to attend college in hopes that they will find the greatness we pushed so hard for them to achieve. We breath a small sigh of relief when they get to college knowing that we must of done something right. You just don’t expect that relief to turn in to such sorrow. May god bless you all and provide you with the strength and comfort only he can provide.

To the students, faculty, staff, family, friends and citizens no words could possibly be enough to ease the pain of the tragedy you have face and are continuing to face. Please always remember that prayer is still the most powerful tool that you can depend on. As the world prays you, please keep the faith and know that God is not dead, he loves you and so do we. May the Lord bless and keep you forever.

Dear Tech Family:
May the words of this song bring you some small measure of comfort. Know that the world is praying for you. Please keep building, dreaming, praying, believing, loving, and singing…

Laura (Tech Alum- 1995 School of Education)

“Anyway” by Martina McBride (Martina McBride/Brett Warren/Brad Warren)

1st Verse

You can spend your whole life buildin’
Somethin’ from nothin’
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

2nd Verse

You can chase a dream
That seems so outta reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray
It doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
(Yeah) I do it anyway (yeah, yeah)

3rd Verse

This world’s gone crazy
And it’s hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

4th Verse

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
And in a moment they can choose to walk away
Love ‘em anyway

(Repeat Chorus)

5th Verse

You can pour your soul out singin’
A song you believe in
That tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yeah, sing it anyway, yeah yeah

I sing
I dream
I love anyway, yeah

Words cannont express the pain, horror, and sorrow this community feels for you. For me personally I just want the families to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and that words can not begin to describe the pain and hurt I feel for you.
