Condolences, April 18, 2007

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims parents and family as they mourn today. I pray to God that something like this wouldn’t happen again to Virginia Tech. We always see these kind of things on television and we are like ok we are sorry it happened but when it is “a massacre” then it is totally something different. Again I am saddened by this and my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims family and friends.

In a time of tragedy and sorrow, no amount of words ever seems quite enough to comfort those in pain. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain inflicted upon this campus this week, but I have faith that the Hokies will once again stand strong. Just remember to keep your heads up, your eyes towards God, and try to take a little step each day in the healing process. May God be with you all.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane,
I could walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again.

No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.

My heart’s still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.

But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you’ll always stay.

God knows why, with chilling touch,
Death gathers those we love so much,
And what now seems so strange and dim,
Will all be clear, when we meet Him.

what do you say at a time like this, there are not enough words to express how saddened we all are by this tragedy. Schools should be a safe haven for learning and growing.I have recently had a little boy and feel such sorrow knowing that these people taken tragically were sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, friends. To the family and friends of the victims my heart breaks and aches with you, stand tall and strong with arms open and we will walk toward you with open arms.

Dear Collegues,

As a college student in Milwaukee, WI, my deepest, deepest sympathy goes out to you and your families during this extremely, painful time.  God will see you through this unimaginable tragedy.  I will pray today, tomorrow, and everyday that your souls will be whole once again.

May God with you all.

My family and I are praying for the students, staff and families of the dead and injured students.
The year my daughter graduated from high school,
an incident with a boy having a “hit list” happened in her school.  All of the parents and
teachers tried to get him dismissed, but it was
an issue of his privacy.  We finally got the media involved a few days before graduation and
the administration suspended him.  At graduation,
there were state troopers with rifles guarding
the field as the graduation ceremony proceded.

We need to start paying more attention to these
people who show signs of mental illness.  We cannot afford any longer to protect their civil
rights.  I am sure that the situation with the
boy at Va. Tech could have been handled without
injuring his civil rights.  Were his parents notified of his erratic behavior??

God bless all of you.

May God bless the souls of those who have departed, and those who are in deep sorrow. Our Almighty God will comfort them in this great time of need. One way or another the lives of the departed have touched other people’s lives. It has for me. Though I may not know them it will serve as an inspiration for me to uphold our institutions of learning and contribute what I know to help those who have plans and dreams, and to groom the young of the blessed USA.
