We shared your tears as we watched your convocation last evening. We pray that you will find the strength to get through this and make a difference to this crazy world…
It appears this trouble young man could not communicate his thoughts and fears. He has shown the world the consequences of not reaching for help, not sharing and not trusting. The tragic horror that visited You (The World) of Monday morning will never be forgotten. I pray it will convince us all to better listen… Stay strong, Together!

My heart mourns the tragic losses at our beloved school and community. My prayers and sincere best wishes go out to all those injured or lost, and to the families that survive them. It is very tough to see something so devastating and horrofic unfold on the campus that I so dearly love. We are Virginia Tech, and we will rise up and get through this. May peace be with those who have passed, may those injured heal quickly, and may God grant strength to all the families involved.

I went to a college where one international student was shot and felt so bad because he was a long way from home to get a great education and now his family had to travel a long way and wonder why he son was killed. So I am so overwhelmed now that is 33 of my fellow colleagues, countrymen and Virginians who just want to better themselves and just doing the right steps for a better future. I am really confused with emotions. I have visited many university and Virginia Tech and it’s community is one of the friendliest and best I ever seen. My deepest prayers and condolences to the families and friends of your lost loved ones.

My heart cries inside for the family, friends, and loved ones effected by this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you. No one will ever imagine how this effects the families and friends but Always remember that GOD is there. God will lift you up in ways that you cant imagine. God will help you through this. The poem that I have listed below is a poem that I found to help me when my great-grandfather passed a few months ago.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

Is it wrong to have a favorite VA Tech victim?  I do.  The 76-year-old professor, the man who held the door closed so his students could escape.  He was a Holocaust survivor.  I can imagine him, having experiences so much, staring death in the face and not being afraid.

Having grown up in Virginia, my friends and I were split between UVa and Tech.  Although I chose UVa, I spent quite a few weekends on your campus and enjoyed the friendly rivelry.  Now my friends and neighbor’s children are following our footsteps to Blacksburg and Charlottesville.

My heart aches for you and your pain steals the wind from my words.  As many have said “We are all Virginia Tech today”.

“Dead are my people, gone are my people, but I exist yet, lamenting them in my solitude. Dead are my friends, and in their death my life is naught but great disaster. The knolls of my country are submerged by tears and blood, for my people and my beloved are gone, and I am here living as I did when my people and my beloved were enjoying life and the bounty of life, and when the hills of my country were blessed and engulfed by the light of the sun.” - Khalil Gibran
