How can we feel safe again after such a tragedy occurs in our second home, college?

The world mourns with Virginia Tech.

Although the healing process will be long and painful, I trust this tragedy will only make all of us stronger as we get close to each other.

I am very astounded and regrettable to this tragedy. But what makes me fear is the effect after this event. Will it sweep a serious Asia exclusiveness wave? Will school have opposition? I am really worry about this.

I am deeply saddened by the horrific events.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire VT community.  Virginia Tech is a beautiful campus and I hope the scar that the gunman left will fade quickly through the kindness of the survivors and the support of those of us that love the area.

The sheer scale of this horror is dumbfounding.  Let us probe, as a global nation, the reasons behind this gross tragedy and take steps to prevent it ever occurring again.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those families and friends who are now grieving.

May those who died have eternal rest, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May they rest in peace.

After several gun shooting crimes happened in schools and universities, it is really the time for the government to review their policy on gun or weapons regulation, right? I can’t see any good reason for people carrying a gun in a peaceful place.
Hope this sad thing will not happen ever again.
Even, I am on the other side of the earth, please sending my deeply sorry for the families lost their loves.

People all over the world feel for the victims, survivors, and their friends and families. I particularly find that tonglen practice is useful when I hear of distressing and painful news.

Instructions for tonglen practice:
Visualize someone to whom you feel very close, particularly someone who is suffering and in pain. As you breathe in, imagine you take in all their suffering and pain with compassion, and as you breathe out, send your warmth, healing, love, joy, and happiness streaming out to them.

May all find peace.

The winds and dark clouds haunting Charlottesville are symbolic of our grief. With time the winds will fade, and the clouds will whiten. Universities will remain sanctuaries disturbed by tragedy, but will live on and flourish as a testament to those we have lost.

To the families of the fallen: You have endured the unimaginable. It is terribly difficult and painful, but you must go on to honor your loved ones. It is the nightmare of any of us who have sent our children to college.
To the students:  You must carry on and do good things to honor your friends. None of them would want you to stop living. The best way to memorialize your fallen friends is to live well, accomplish the best things you are able to, support each other and make doing good and charitable things part of your life.

To all the students, staff, families and lost loved ones:

I am in total shock that this tragic disaster has happened in our wonderful state of Virginia. I have been watching TV and cannot comprehend all the grief and hurt all of you have and will be going through. My father was from Fincastle, VA and I have lots of cousins and an Aunt still living there.  So I love Virginia dearly, it is my second home.

May God Bless you all and I will keep you in my prayers.
