Dear Virginia Tech Students, ask your governors to CHANGE the law that allow people to buy a gun as easy as buying milk. Your society can’t be punished this way by your governors. Madness is all over the world, but if buying a gun is difficult, then it will be difficult to kill. You have the power to make this change. All my condolences for those who loose a family member.

The thoughts and prayers of our family are with you.  As the parents of a student at JMU and with another heading to Radford in the fall our hearts are with those who lost a son or daughter.  We cannot begin to imagine the suffering they are going through.

We are with you.

My sympathies are with the friends and families of all the victims of this tragedy. That includes the family and friends of Cho, who must have been in great pain himself to cause such suffering for everyone around him.

Dear all,
I was shocked when the news came on tv here in Holland! What happened is unbelievble and it is hard to understand that people do things like this. I wish you all strength and power to find a way to live again.

For the families, friends, and mentors of the victims of this indescribable tragedy, perhaps our American writer and reformer said it well:

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

To all students, faculty, staff and parents at Virginia Tech:
As parents of two boys attending Virginia Tech, my heart is heavy and saddened by what has happened this week.  The wonderful tranquility of Blacksburg has been temporarily tarnished, but will be back!  This has been horrific for you and our family.  We love you all and send our condolences to the famililies of those per were taken away too soon by this act of violence.

I have been reading the condolences shared on this website and it occured to me that “People do Care”.
So many news stories are about the bad in the world, I hope that VT can take strenght from the love and prayers from so many around the world.
People do care and we don’t celebrate that enough in our lives.
There really are no words that make this particular tragedy better… but my prayers and the prayers of so many more are with all of you and your familes.
I hope that we can also send prayers to the family of the gunman.  I can’t imagine how horrible they also must feel knowing their son has caused so much sorrow and pain.
My hope is that VT will continue to be a tight community and will support each other through this horrible tragedy.

I was so sad to hear of the outrage that all you students were put through, and of all the loved and lost friends that were the outcome. I hope these few words from my heart may be of some comfort to you all.

........starts with the feeling of warmth that grows from the friendship we shared......
the feeling our friendship has no motive for just is,
the feeling that everyday starts with the brightest sunrises fo reds and yellows....and the evenings are laid to rest with crimsons, mauves and rich golds.....
the feeling that we were not friends for any reason, but it will go on through all of lifes changing touched my life in a special way and left a warm mark in my heart that no one will ever take away.........these feelings I hold close to my heart, thats why I’m so very glad there was you.......I hope that when you look down on remember me as I remember you.................WITH LOVE !!!!

With kindest regards David J. Saggers

Dear Virginia Tech Community,

I do not even know where to start since words could never describe what happened nor could they make the pain that you feel go away. The entire world’s thoughts, love and prayers are with you. You will grow stronger then ever and your friendship for your fellow students – for which VT is very well known - will become ever closer. I will be praying for all of you who have been affected by this senseless tragedy. God bless you! And do not forget, the entire nation is with you!

Best wishes,

I am deeply moved by the resolve shown at Virginia Tech in its darkest hour.  The loss is so tragic and all of us share your grief and offer a shoulder to lean on at this time.  The vigils held yeaterday were very profound in not only remembering, but also in setting a strong resolve to continue, grow and be stronger.  While the beautiful countryside of Blacksburg has been violated by this act; the grace of God, the good people of Virginia and the support of this great land will help heal the wounds.  God bless every one of you and may the good Lord be your constant companion in this challenging hour.

As a native Virginian who is at a university on the other side of the country, I’m just at a loss of words.  I’ve lost a good friend.  I’m grieving not only for her and her family, but for all her neighbors, friends, and teachers.  I know her high school teachers must be devastated.  I am devastated.  All I can do is offer condolences and nothing more.  I feel very guilty that my Virginia Tech sweatshirt is back home in Virginia and not with me.  I would have worn it for the rest of the week.
