I don’t have any advice to give on how to heal from such a terrible thing, but I will say that you are all in my prayers, and will be for some time to come.  I work at the University of Southern California, and I know how close a college community can become.  I hope and pray that you can all find strength and comfort in one another.

I’m so sorry for your enormous loss.

The University of Alberta may be physically far from Virginia at this moment, but we share your grief and hold you dear in our thoughts and prayers.  We realise it could have been anywhere, and express our extreme sadness and sympathy that it was your community that was struck.  May you find strength and resolve in the support of others.

I am a Californian yet I feel so much pain for those that survive.  I believe that those that have passed on are in a place full of love.  I would also like students to understand that healing is a process.  A process that counselors are fully aware of so please seek help.  I work with victims of domestic violence.  Those victims that seek help have more fullfilling lives than those that do not seek help.

I can still remember when Bonfire fell.  It threw the entire campus into a constant state of mourning.  The pain never truly goes away.  I does get easier as time goes on and Virginia Tech will recover.  My prayers go out to all the families and friends of the victims.  My God watch over you all and protect you in the months to come.

After such a senseless act of violence one can not help but feel shocked and numbed. The same applies for all the people of the world no matter in which country they were born. The loss of friends, colleagues, teachers, loved ones is already hard enough. As for the loss of a child…

My family´s and my own deepest condolences to all of you and may God give you strength so that you may live another day and another and another while cheerishing the memories of the ones you loved.

When I was a young girl, an older sister stationed in DC sent me Hokie PJ’s as a gift.At the time, I hadn’t a clue what they were, but for some reason always kept them, at least until Katrina took them last year.:) I think she hoped I’d take the hint and go to VT, but I went to Southern Miss instead, but something about those old pajamas seemed to tie me somehow to the school to where I’d pull for the teams when folks down here thought I was nuts.  Guess even more today, I AM a HOKIE, just like everyone else in the country, sharing your pain. My 3 girls are past college age, but I have a granddaughter, so pray this never happens in her lifetime.

My family has thought so much about what it would be like if it WERE one of our daughters, and we can only empathise with your pain.  I also cry for the families of the professor’s families that have to go on without them.  And we cannot forget that even the troubled young man that did the shooting had a family and they must be experiencing something far beyond loss, pain, and guilt tonight.  They need our prayers as well.

ALL of you are in our prayers, and as so many have said, right now, WE ARE ALL HOKIES TODAY.

I’m so sorry to hear what happened at Virginia Tech yesterday. I was watching it on the news and also on World News on abc 7. I give my condolences to those who lost there lives and also to the families of the victims and the students who are mourning the tragic death of their loved ones and friends. It saddens me to hear the agony and pain that went on yesterday. I can’t understand why people have to be so cruel in this world. All I have to say to the students, faculty, and families in mourning is that the victims that died are in peace now and in a better place in the good kingdom of heaven. I will be praying for everyone and so will the churches in my community. God Bless.

We know there is little that anyone can say to alleviate the pain of those affected by this senseless tragedy yet we hope our thoughts and prayers will bring some comfort.  Although on the other side of the United States, we are deeply saddened by your loss.  Even with all of the sorrow, we across America and around the world are reminded of the incredible human spirit through the students of Virginia Tech.  It has been truly amazing to see the grace the students have shown in the face of this tragedy.  It is reassuring to see the unity of the college community out there.  Our hearts go out to all of you.

I hope you can all come together and be strong in this time of hurt. I can only imagine the amount of pain you must all be feeling currently.  If you need anything at all, there are people around you. Know that love will get you through.

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

I just want to take a moment to offer my condolences to the families and friends of all the victims of this terrible tragedy. And to all of the students and faculty who witnessed the events unfold, I can’t even begin to imagine. You are all in my prayers. To the entire community, you are an inspiration, the fortitude of your community is very apparent.

It just pains me trying to think of how. How could someone put so many people.. people they don’t even know, through so much pain. When I heard that thirty-three people were killed, I thought I heard it wrong. I didn’t know any of the victims or anyone who attends Virginia Tech for that matter, but my heart hurts and goes out to anyone and everyone involved.

In Memory of All of the thirty-two young and old innocent people whose lives were taken on Monday April 16, 2007.

We, the entire nation, will never forget you.

The smoke has cleared, and the air is silent,
yet only a cry, from a mother, father, brother or sister, sticks out way high,
just about to reach the sky,
and all we can ask of Him is Why?

Why did they go?
Why couldn’t they stay?
Al He can say....they had to go away.
To become Angels, to watch over those who
are left behind and console us in the
grief we find.

He leaves us behind, empty, but not alone
as the whole world shares the grief and sorrow of the Virginia Tech, which will again stand up tomorrow!
