Virginia is the first American State I Had visited when I partipated on november 2001 to a colloquium organised at Washington and Lee University by Pr. Domnica Radulescu. I was charmed by the beauty of the landscapes of this area, by the kindness of people and the curiosity and the intelligence of the students.
So, I was really horrified when I watched at tv the the tragic event happened at University VT. I present my most saddened condolences to the families of the victims and their friends, and I wish that this kind of tragic events not be renewed any more.

I don’t think that words can truely express how sorry and hurt I am over the events of this past Monday.  I have watched the videos, read all the articles and seen the news coverage trying to make sense of what matter how long I do just doesn’t make sense.  Please know that all of us in Orlando share your pain, your sorrow and your tears.  If there is one thing to take comfort in it is this...on the day that your friends, colleagues, and family members were taken from you they were given back to God and are Angels in Heaven...they will hurt no more.

All of my prayers, thoughts and love will be with you all during this difficult time.

Words cannot express our sorrow.  Our thoughts and feelings go out to all those touched by this tragedy.  VT and Blacksburg will always be remembered so fondly by us, our children and friends from Sri Lanka who shared their lives with us for more than 7 years.  We, and our children, will carry forever the memories of a very pleasant and homely city and school.  Nothing will not be changed by any of this, because the Tech has so much to give to students like us from distant places and has received so much to make it the great school today.

My most sincere condolences to everyone with a connection to Virginia Tech.

“Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone.
Prevent the dog from barking, with a juicy bone.
Silence the pianos, and with muffled drum
bring out the coffins, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead.
Scribbling on the sky the message, they are dead.
Put crepé bows around the necks of public doves.
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one.
Pack up the moon, and dismantle the sun.
Pour away the ocean, and sweep out the wood
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

My condolences and heartfelt sympathies to all of the VT family. Collectively, we are all poorer, having been robbed of some of the best and the brightest students. We have also lost Educators who contributed greatly, unselfishly to others.  The Hokie Nation will rise up with compassion and determination. They will bring their school front and center again for the right reasons. They will rise above the Evil that has visited their campus. Godspeed and blessings while they work towards that end. Our prayers will accompany you always.God will hold all who suffer in his arms.

This could have been anywhere, but should have been nowhere. The images of violence, shattered lives, and lost dreams least expected in a place of learning, a step to greatness, and a womb of hope. To heroes and victims, and to those hurt and shocked, I can offer little else but the hope that the day will come when no one anywhere will feel the sorrow and pain that you do today.

I was really shoked hearing of this horrible massacre. I come from Germany - near Erfurt, where the horrible scenes took place in 2002. It makes me really sad and I feel the deep sad emotions of 2002 again. I pray for all the victims and their families and friends and for all the students which have to handle this strange situation.

I’m a young mother, and i heard yesterday, on TV, the tragedy who happened in Virginia Tech College...All my thoughts today,go to the parents, the families, the friends, and the close relations of the victims of this drama.
I’m sad, and sorry, to see all this violence, all this despair, to remove the life has so many young people.

I think of Columbine too…

I hope that it will be the last drama of this kind, and that an awakening on the sale of weapon has fire will follow.

Love for you all.

This is awful and sad, but i have to ask myself, what is the lesson?  There has to be one.  All things, good and bad, have a lesson. Whatever the lesson is, it will help heal this tragedy. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, the Va Tech community, and the human family as a whole b/c we are all touched by this.  Peace!

My father passed away when I was little and he was only 31 years old.  The following lines from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet have always comforted me.

“Take him and cut him out into little stars
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garrish sun.” (III.ii.23-6)

God Bless the family that is Viginia Tech.

As a student at Loyola University in Chicago, I believe I speak for everyone I know in saying that we hope Virginia Tech will overcome the pain of losing friends and loved ones in this tragic event. As we watched the news an overwhelming quietness and sorrow fell throughout our student union center as we stood in horror as the events unfolded. Some students cried for you and others bowed their heads in silence with prayers. Our hearts and sympathies go out to all the students of Virginia Tech. Just know that I, as well as many others, will be there for you, on, email, or by phone if anyone at Virginia Tech needs to talk to someone.

Dear Virginia Tech Friends--

Our family sends our prayers, our love, and our
condolences. We are so sad and sorry for the senseless and horrific loss that you now suffer.

Grieving takes a long time. It takes a long time to honor lives of such bright promise. One doesn’t manage easily. So many friends there in Blacksburg--colleagues, young people from here in Williamsburg, some whose faces I see very clearly, and friends yet to be met. Your communities grieve with you.

Hokies, we embrace you. Your friends and teachers and the parents of your old high school friends are sending you so much love. We are proud of you and you are precious us.

For now, please take care of yourselves and each other in the ways that you know best. And then come home for the summer, just as you are. Bring your tender broken hearts. We will find you and walk with you.

May you be surrounded by angels. And may strength and courage be yours in the days ahead. Someday yet far off, you will help to create a world where things like this can’t happen. We have so much faith in you.
