Condolences, April 18, 2007

My families thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to all affected by this senseless tragedy. We still can not come to terms why someone would wish to act in this manner. Time will never replace what has been taken from the friends and families on that tragic day. God Bless, the world is thinking of you all.

The Cuthbert Family.

From Milwaukee, Wisconsin
We, the Oliver family send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to all those affected by this horrific shooting. The senseless brutality of these killings leaves us speachless and we as a nation cannot really personalize what those families who lost loved ones are going through - we can only empathize and support you. Your loss is beyond our comprehension, but please know that there are millions of us who cry for your loss and pray that it will not happen again. Our nation suffers as its’ best and brightest were taken from all of us.  We support VT and its’ extended family. God bless

Hokies: I think it’s safe to say that the whole country is thinking of you. Look at the comments on this board; there are people from literally all over the world offering their condolences and support. Search Virginia Tech on Facebook - there are countless groups dedicated to VT and candlelight vigils are taking place at universities and colleges across the country. People who don’t even know you, and had possibly never even heard of your school before yesterday, are pouring out their hearts on this message board.

We can’t possibly understand what your community going through. We can only offer our support and hope that this will somehow and in some way help in your grieving process. Yes, we are all Hokies in that this tragedy could have happened anywhere. The entire country: colleges, individuals, students, and familes are feeling a portion, however small, of your loss and grief.

Your community will mourn for a long time. Just know that we are all here for you, no matter how long it takes. I am truly sorry that you all have had to face such a horrific tragedy.

Many people are shocked and saddened by what happened in your community. Know that our thoughts, prayers, and best wishes are with you.

We pray for those who were wounded both physically and emotionally, and for the families and friends of those killed and injured.

We pray for the Virginia Tech family as they process the trauma and tragedy that has befallen you.

And we pray for the authorities and the police and emergency workers who are coping with the crime scene and with the world’s curiosity, the media,
and the second guessing.

While it feels good to terrorize this young man for his evilness, think of making a bigger impact. God himself has chosen VT for this tragedy because he believes it is a University where students come together in a time of tragedy and not only rebuild but be role models on how to love. Your friends did not die in vain, but to get the attention of the world so that the amazing students at VT can bring acceptance into a hateful world.
My wish, during this time of tragedy, is that you be role models to all kids across America by embracing those who are your enemies. For now and the next few hours, while the country is still in shock, you are in the spotlight and have the power to change the world we live in with your words and actions. Don’t be known as the University with the largest student massacre in history, but the university that brought kids across America together in a fight against breeding hateful people. Make Virginia Tech be the first words that people think of before they engage in hurtful conversation. 23,000 students have the power. Do if for all of the loved ones lost and don’t let their deaths be for no purpose.

People kill people, but why?

I hope that we are able to live in peace some day!

Anyway I pray for the victims and their families and I hope that such tragedies will not happen again!

No no more guns, no more shootings and please no more crying families!

It’s hard to believe that something this tragic can take place on a campus where you seek higher learning. It’s difficult to embrace such a tragedy of this proportion and it just reminds us that we can never take life for granted and we never know when someone we know, someone we love, or even our ownselves will decease.  Just because we are young we are not invincible. I would like to send condolences from New Mexico State University and I pray that from this all campus’s will grow stronger and become closer. God Bless.

My college right now is Washington State, and my team is the Cougars. But today I’m a Hokie. Even though this tragic event happened 3,000 miles away from me, I like everyone else am sad, angry, and scared by all of this. No campus deserves this kind of tragedy to happen to them, not by a long shot. And I only hope and pray it won’t happen again any time soon.

VT will recover, I have no doubt about that. But we should never forget this day. We should never
forget the lives that were lost, and the families and friends that were affected. And we should never forget this day so we can resolve not to let anything like this happen again in our country.

I believe I speak for everybody in Pullman when I say my thoughts and prayers are with you tonight in Blacksburg.

Good luck and God’s speed to everyone who is part
of the Hokie community.

This is a huge tragedy, and I join everyone at Virginia Tech, the US, and around the world in mourning. It is hard for me to get over, and I don’t even know anyone there, so I can only imagine what it must be like for those of you who are there. I send my prayers and support to everyone at VA tech, and pray to God that the families and friends of the victims can find strength after this horrible event. God bless you all, and may the victims rest in peace.

Dear victims of VA tech and family,

I’m deeply sadden about this tragic event, which everyone would wish it was just a nightmare and that we can all just wake up and it’s all gone. For the parents and all the victims, everyone around the world our hearts are with you.
I know as a 16 years old teenager, I can’t change or do anything much for the victims, but I did learn from my past experiences that there is without a doubt, a God and He is with your sons and daughters. They are in the best hands you can ever possibly imagine now and they are safe forever. Always remember that they’re happy forever and they are all smiling high above all of you in Heaven now. They are watching all of you everyday with God and the angels for eternity, so please try and cheer up because every time you look up at the stars, shining high above you, just always remember that they are still there and they want you all to be happy and live on the way they would want all of you to be. God bless to the victims of VA tech, all the families, friends, and the campus.
