As President Lincoln felt his words to be inadequate at Gettysburg, so too are ours in expressing the grief and sorrow our family feels for this tragedy that has befallen the Hokie Nation.  May God grant you and yours the strength to carry on.  In Virginia, the roots of kin and friend run deep.  May those roots hug you tightly and comfort you always.

Perfection retrieved from something that’s tarnished
Like calmness from anger that has yet to be harnessed
Self doubt impedes on an optomists day
Like an orator standing with nothing to say
Misery’s rains poured from skies
Symbolic tears from aimless eyes
As fate dictates what has not been chosen
Continuous life,in it’s tracks,becomes frozen
Sadness hiding in smiles reversed
Reactions one has are those unrehearsed
Grins that replace incessant tears
Courage that replaces incessant fears
There’s no need to worry, there’s no need to fret
For we always have been, and will be,VA Tech

God bless you

May fate and time heal your undeserved emotional wounds

May the hole in your collective hearts be filled by those who love you

From many now become one, bring a light in the dark, give hope to the hopeless, love to the despondent, peace and comfort to those in mourning this day. Give comfort to your fellows, come together, heal this hurt, plant a seed of hope, water this garden. Be very good and excellent to one other.

God was like, “nah, leave him alone, he’s one of ours. he’s got wings upon his back and he’s destined for the stars.”

the only connection i have with this tragedy is the fact that i am a student as well. this truly makes you understand the fragility of life. we take our safety for granted. i can’t even begin to express my sadness for your community...for the lives of those lost and everyone affected by this horrible crime. i only hope that one day you wake up and realize, “everything will be okay”

In such a tragic event, there never seems to be a proper justice for the victums and their families. It truly is a disgrace. I can’t express enough that my heart is with all of the students and faculty. For those whose had to pay the price, caused by a LOST and TROUBLED individual, rest eternally in peace. My prayers are also with the family of the guilty. That burden must be unbearable as well. As for now all we need is time, love and guidance

My heart and prayers goes out to the entire Hokie family.  May the souls of the victims of this senseless act rest in the peace, comfort, and love of our Lord.  The ONLY good that came out of this is that everyone will hopefully appreciate this gift of life and forget about the little mundane things that are keeping us from loving one another.  God bless you all.

Its amazing how we all think we dont love each other when in actuality we do. Events like this go beyond racial issues.  We have witnessed over the years that people are people and we shouldn’t discriminate against them on basis of one representative from their race. As I reflect back to 9/11,Columbine,sniper shootings and this its hard to predict who is against us based on outside appearance. we have to look beyond the outside appearance of a person. we have to be aware and alert of those around us that need love and attention. we need to learn not to be so evil in this world. I am a college student and this has a huge effect on me because it could of happend here. It seems as though it would more likely happen here sense we are surrounded by bigger cities with higher crime rates. I pray each day for this world. No one deserves to suffer from such pain. Please everyone lets come together and do what we can to love one another. open your eyes and lets continue to move forward. i will keep Everyone in my prayers.

May God hold you in the very palm of his hand.

April 18, 2007, 11:57pm • Columbus, Ohio • #25580

My heart truly aches for all of you. Continue to pull together and be unified like you’ve been doing. Don’t let anger or hatred take over - otherwise the enemy wins.
Evil is all around us but as long as we continue to love one another and be kind - good always wins.
I would like to dedicate the song “Praise You In This Storm” by Casting Crowns to you all. It’s hard to praise Jesus during times like this, but HE will comfort you in this incredibly tough time. Just go to HIM.

Matthew 11:28
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

My heart and prayers are with all of you. It is incomprehensible to imagine a tragedy of this magnitude at our beloved VA Tech. I have been inspired by the strength, dignity and compassion of the students, faculty, administration and community at this difficult time. Although there is tremendous pain and suffering in the Virginia Tech family, the true spirit of community, fellowship and pride is an inspiration to us all.

I myself am a recent student at NAIT ( Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and I feel that as a student, there is an automatic sense of sympathy for another student. I beleive that no matter where in the world a great act like this occurs, there is a universal outpouring of support, prayers and hope for the victims of such a horrific act. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I am so happy to see such strength through this storm, keep going...for you and for those lost.

This message is for all the Tech students. You are our nations future. It is tragic times such as these that define a generation of leaders. My heart is to see you take time to heal, because the pain is real, but I ask that after you have started the process please help in rebuilding the school, the community, but most important of all, your lives. Nobody could have predicted that inventing the future would include rebuilding lives after this tragice event. If anybody is capable of the process, it is you the student and Virginia Tech’s most important resource. I have said many times to my wife, I love our students and I do. My heart goes out to you all.

To the faculty and staff, I offer my condolences. To the grieving family members words can’t express so I won’t try but I mourn with you too.

I don’t know any of the victims. I never heard of a Hoakie before this week.  I have cried these few days and been so sad to see such loss and to know that others are enduring such pain. I pray for your healing and express my deepest sorrow.

I don’t have any beautiful poems or scripture to share but I remember something that I read long ago. “God gave us memory so that we could have roses in winter”. We will all remember.

I cannot begin to imagine the pain that your university is going through. Families, friends, students, staff members, I pray that you all keep God in your heart at this time because He is there with you. This was not an act of God, but an act of the devil. I will continue to pray for everyone that has been affected by this horrible incident. To you all, keep your faith and God Bless.

There are no words, no thoughts, no ways to express the sorrow that this world is feeling for anyone any way involved with the VA Tech tradgedy.  As a student of a major university, I can not even fathom what these people are going through.  To know that any given day could be my last becuase of someone else’s ignorance and selfish ways...I am at a loss for words.  I do know that the University of North Florida in Jacksonville is fully supporting the students, victims, and victims families in this time of sorrow and grief.  Whether we are a UF gator, a FSU seminole, a UCF knight, a UGA bulldog, or an UNF Osprey..."On April 16, 2007 we all became Hokies.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and everyday from here on out.

To all the students, teachers and family of those affected by the Virginia Tech tragedy: I want to express my condolences to all of you during this difficult and horrible time that all of you have and are still experiencing following the shooting. Recalling my memories of being in High School where there was always drive by shootings or threats it shocks me that there is still violence going on and that life is not valued and cherished as it should be. Seeing all the photos and hearing stories of the people who were killed I share in your grief because they were people like us trying to pursue their dreams, ambitions and live their life. I can only imagine how it must feel to lose a friend, colleague, father, wife, husband or child. I know the pain will never go away of losing your loved one but just know to keep strong.

Words cannot express how much I feel for all of you and your campus. I was shocked to hear about the events that took place on Monday. As a Christian and follower of Christ, I can only imagine the many questions most people are asking in a crisis like this. All I can say is that I have been, am and will continue to pray for each and every one of you.

Your campus, families and friends will remain in my heart. May you look to God for comfort and healing in this time. I’m sorry but stay strong and you are in my heart and prayers.

The years I spent at Virginia Tech were some of the most formative of my life.  The faculty and staff there are second to none and the level of intelligence and dedication of the students is extremely impressive.

Though much time has passed since I walked across the drill field, the lessons I learned at Tech serve me well to this day.  My thoughts and prayers are with my fellow Hokies.
