This tragic event touches a place deep in my heart reserved for the most terrible and unfair of events.  I have a daughter who is finishing her freshman year at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.  A bomb threat was called in to her campus on April 17th and several buildings were evacuated.  The university now plans a mock event to try to ensure that a similar tragedy may be prevented or at the least minimized if a similar event were to occur. I cannot imagine the shock and immeasurable saddness that the families and friends of these students and faculty members are experiencing.  I also think of all of you at the university who will have to somehow go on after such a terrible and shocking event. I have watched the faces of these victims on television and heard the bits of information about each of them which really reveals how special they were.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

To the President, Faculty, VT Police, Students, and the families of the victims:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you every minute of every day.  No words can express how sorry we are that so many innocent, intelligent and unique individuals had to endure a tragedy such as this.  You are not alone, just remember that.  There is not anyone out there that hasn’t been impacted by this devastating event.
Even though we do not know each other and may never meet...we are sending many hugs your way just as a small attempt to help try to ease your pain.  VT is a much loved campus and the souls of the students and professors that lost their lives will live on through the great Hokie spirit that is so prevalent among the whole Blacksburg community.

With our deepest sympathy,
April, Kayla, and Maliya

My hopes, my prayers, my tears, my heart, my everything I want to give to Virginia Tech.  I pray for the families, and the victims.  I can never have a glimmer of the pain and loss that people are feeling who are connected to this event.  Though while reading about lost ones dreams and lives including the comments of people who cared about them I want to thank those who have left us with my whole heart for being everything they were while here.  Today while so many recount stories of times spent together I know that their lives will never be forgotten and I hope that their lives will be the catalyst for hundreds of more beautiful people.  They will never be replaced and I cry for the empty footprints left behind.

As an alumnus (twice), and the mother of a senior Hokie, I was simply stunned as things unfolded on Monday. Ever since I was a small child, I have been to the land of hokie stone several times a year.  I know well the feeling of family that prevails over everything in Blacksburg, both on campus and off. When the time comes for you to grieve privately and try and put this behind you, know that you will forever be in my heart and prayers. UT PROSIM!  Cindy

Dear everyone,

We send our deepest condolences to everyone on campus. Although we have never been on your campus we have passed it many times on our way to Salem, VA and it looked so beautiful from the highway. Hopefully that beauty will return and the memories of those who died will be part of this beauty.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to everyone that was victimized and affected by this horrific tragedy.  You are in my heart and prayers each and everyday.  This is an unforgettable and unforgivable thing that has happened.  Each and every individual that sadly passed away was far too young and innocent to pass.  God Bless all of you, especially the magnificent heros who risked, if not gave, their own life to save others.  You will be forever remembered for your bravery.  May God be with you all.

VT community, my prayers go out to you all, especially the families and friends of the victims.  To the parents of Erin Peterson, she was a wonderful person and blessed those around her and the world in so many ways.  We are saddended by a promising young woman whose life has ended suddenly.  She had so much to offer to society and through her spirit and epressed goals we as her friends are obligated to carry her dreams forward as she guides us from heaven.  You are wonderful people yourselves and we thank you for creating and raising such a wonderful, talented and honest person.  We thank you for what your daughter has done for us over the years and we can only hope to continue to bring forth the goodness to the world that she woud have done.

Dear Students, Staff and Parents of Virginia Tech,

My heart is broken for all of you. Having sent two children off for university educations I am overcome with sadness knowing that this joyous life passage has become wrapped in senseless tragedy. Please know that millions grieve with you. Our tears fall as if our own children and loved ones were taken. In fact, I feel that your children and loved ones are mine. May the God of the Universe bring you comfort.

To Hokie Nation. My prayers and condolences to the families and friends of the innocent lives that were lost. As an Alumni of VT Tech, I feel that I have lost part of my family as well as a sense of reality. Blacksburg used to be one of the safest places on earth but in reality this was an illusion because in a matter of hours even our reality has changed. My deepest sorrow to the whole VT Tech community for their loss.

One night I had a dream. I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the skies flashed scenes from my life. In each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One was mine, and one was the Lord’s. When the last scene of my life appeared before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand, and, to my surprise, I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. And I noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times in my life. I asked the Lord about it: “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I notice that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why you left my side when I needed you most.” The Lord said: “My precious child, I never left you during your time of trial. Where you see only one set of footprints, I was carrying you.”

With Deepest Condolences,

staying quietly with the people love us and people we love is more precious than the money and the postion we earn. I satisfy that I can still have chance to be with my parents and my friends.

As far as the gunman, he and his family are also the victims. We have to ask ourselves, “if we could try our best to help him and to show him the kind and the love among the humankind, would the tragedy happen?” Don’t be offish again, be kind to people around you.
