Our son Mike is a student at Tech and we were greatly relieved to hear from him on Monday that he was safe, but saddened to learn later that he lost a friend and had another friend who was injured.  Our sadness and compassion are conveyed to everyone who feels the pain of this tragedy, most especially the family and friends of those we lost.

We pray for the day that every human being will see the one “truth” that God (or whatever higher authority you may believe in) is waiting for us to understand:  Everything and everyone was created the same and it is all “connected"--in every sense of this word--every living thing and every element of the universe.  Until every human being sees this truth and understands exactly what it means, this world will continue on the path it is now.  If we could figure out how to tap directly into that “connection”, we would do everything we could to heal the world.  We continue to hope and pray for the day it will be etched into all our minds, on all our hearts and in all our souls--forever.

To those who will live on, and to those who have parted this life...there are humans everywhere sharing and experiencing the pain of this horrible event. Shaken to the very core of the delicate experience of life, I wish to extend my most sincere and genuine condolences to my brother’s and sister’s of this world. As a college student, this tragedy has hit home and truly made me re-evaluate the safety I have felt on campus. I am so sorry for the loss of life and innocence on your campus. All the victims were attempting to further their success and that was stolen from them. I am happy to see the strength of your campus and community and your ability to pull together in the wake of such horrific tragedy. Please know people around the world, students especially, are praying for your community and students.

I am currently a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and I began to think how I would feel if this happened at the school I attend...and truthfully, it makes me terribly sick to even imagine.  I cannot even express how completely saddened I am for the peoples lives that were lost, young and old invididuals, and for those families that are now grieving due to their losses. As I know this is a hard time for all, the effects of this tragedy will continue to be in my daily thoughts and prayers.

I have never been more proud to be a part of the Virginia Tech community than in the past few days.  The students and faculty of my alma mater have handled this horror with remarkable grace and courage.  You remind us each day of why we still love Virginia Tech so much, why it’s still our “home”, and why we keep coming back.  To all of you, please know that when the media finally goes away, and you begin to get back to a new kind of normal, we will be there for you.

Faculty, Students, and families,
I write this with profound sadness. After the
tragedy at Columbine, I had hoped to never hear
of something like this again. I can’t imagine your pain, but please know that I am sharing it with you. Even though I personaly do not know
anyone, I do Know that we have lost some very bright students, and some that may have become leaders in the very near future. I know that we will never forget, but I hope that with time, there will be healing. I also think that we need to revisit our gun laws, and I know that you will agree, that we must protect our families, from something like this, ever happening again!
God Bless

Dear Lord:

Seeing this happen to such a great community hurts my heart. I can’t even grasp what has happened. VA Tech has been in my life everyday. Not a day goes by when I don’t see someone with a Tech sweatshirt or a flag on their car. To know that something like this happened to people I know is heartwrenching. I am so thankful that my friends are okay, but deeply saddened to know that so many people’s friends and family are not. I pray that you bless this community and help those that are troubled and hurt by this evilness, including myself, to remain strong. Please give special attention to those who were immediately affected and stay with them until they are once again happy. Keep those wonderful souls with you for eternity, and have them watch over and protect us from any harm. Give them wings and let them be the angels that guide us.

I offer my deepest sympathy to those families and friends of victims. There are no words that can heal a heart. Please stay strong and you are all my in prayers. They are watching over us now, protecting those special to them from any harm that may be done. They are heros in my heart, each and every one. May God Bless You and Bring Them Home.
