Words can not express the support and prayers that I hold for Virginia Tech. The important thing to remember is that those that are lost aren’t truly lost, they are just heroes in a better place. I would also like to share this short poem:

The Short Good Bye

The world may seem dark, days seem only grim. Our loves ones lost before our eyes. No sense or explanation.
As we try to tell ourselves to move on, it is still too soon. Too soon to find answers, too soon, to short to say good bye.
There is never an answer to why we must lose a loved one. We may never understand our short good bye.
Right now we may be angry at God, we may question his ways. We must always remember the short good bye will be followed by brighter days.
In the end, when all our days are complete. We will be able to look back and find that the short good bye was only followed by a new hello. A longer hello. A hello that we will find when we meet those cherished ones again.

There are no words that can express the deep sadness and emptyness in my heart. Tonight I hold my children tighter and longer than usual, I call my parents and grandparents to tell them how much I miss and love them, I write emails to my friends thanking them for their friendships. This tragedy has affected a whole nation. I pray that you all can get through this with time. I pray that you will see you loved ones in Heaven when it is time. Virginia Tech angels waiting at Heaven’s Gate. I am so so sorry.

Virginia Tech,
I cannot imagine your pain. But I believe in the power of prayer. The entire state of Iowa is praying for you. The strength you showed in your convocation was unreal. It gave me chills when you chanted “let’s go hokies.” There is the true sign of a university family.

God Bless

In the wake of such a tragedy, my condolences go out to the families of the victims and the students and faculty of Virginia Tech.  The loss of your loved ones sits painfully in all of us.  You are in our thoughts and prayers, we share in your sorrow.

I want to express my pride in hearing of the heroism that took place that day, both in the living heroes as well as those who fell.  It renewed a sense of hope inside me that there are still those in the world that would risk all to save another human life.  From young students in cusp of their futures all the way to Professor Librescu, a Holocaust survivor.  As a member of the Jewish community, I am not surprised by his heroism, but in awe of it. He gave himself selflessly to save the lives of his young students.  It is in the wake of such a tragedy that the magnitude of his sacrifice and the sacrifice of those who went with him that we should draw strength.  That in the face of hatred and anger, they stood fast in their quest to save lives in harm’s way, even if they are lost themselves.  Such a senseless tragedy, but through it, a ray of hope that humanity is not lost.

May their memories be a blessing, may G-d comfort us in our time of grief.

I am a college student at a small community college in Illinois and the tragedy at Virginia Tech got everyone at my school talking about our safety and evacuation policies if our school was ever affected by such a tragedy.  That doesn’t ease the pain of the families that lost love ones or bring anyone back but it does say that from this tragedy we, “college students” have learned from this and from this moment forward we can only try to implement change and put in place policies that could aid in such a tragedy never happening again

The saddest thing about this incident is that it has happened before and it will happen again.  Evil exists in every society and is often exported under the cloak of democracy.  When it shows itself in a far away place it seems less important than when it appears within.  Every life is important and every life is precious, wherever it resides and whatever it’s background.  When we all come to realize and accept that fact, incidents such as the one at VT will become far less frequent or disappear completely.

Peace be with us all.

As a mom of a college student(Kent State University) i can only imagine the pain you must be feeling, in fact i called my own son that day even though he doesn’t attend virginia tech, just so i could hear his voice and know that he is alright, don’ be afraid to return to school this can be a very cruel world, but you cannot let these events ruin your lives, accept this as one of life’s very hard lessons, and no that we will all have our place one day next to our fallen loved ones..
