I feel so incredibly sorry for the families and friends of the victims. There’s no way to even begin to imagine the devestation they are going through. And even though i am just 15, if there is any advice i could possibly give would be this.. instead of replaying the day of their tragic loss, we must remember all the great laughter and joy that these people brought to everyone when they were alive.

I could tell just from seeing the pictures of the victims that they were all beautiful, bright, and none of them could possibly deserve what happened to them.

-Stand Strong & Together because that’s the only way we can all get throught this.

Amen

There are living victims of this tragedy---the family and friends of the students and teachers. They will live on to carry the burden of things that were never said, hugs that can no longer be shared, & tears that will be shed for years to come. They will question every decision made that placed their loved one opposite a shooting gun.
Their grief may give way to anger; their anger may turn into blame; & blame may seek refuge in retaliation. A troubled young man might have gotten lost on a very similar path & we find ourselves trying to understand why.
If you are in need of strength, seek comfort in the love & presence of those around you.  When you can, offer your strength & support to those around you who need your help.  Reach out when you can; hold the hope for those who feel that all is lost.
Remember the family of the young man who pointed the gun at your loved one; they did not pull the trigger. They grieve not only the loss of their own son, but everyone else who died that day. No one can ever answer the questions they ask in their own hearts and minds.
Pray for them as you pray for the families of the students & teachers who lost their lives this week. Pray for us all.

April 16th 2007 A day which will live on in infamy.

“My god, My god, My god”. . . is the very same phrase I keep repeating to myself every waking moment since this tragedy. Words will never be able express how deeply saddened I am to have to write this letter. Families, friends, alumni, I am truly honored to have people of such great courage to live in our country. Your loss yesterday was of unspeakable proportions, and terror has been shed at every corner of your life. Now that same fear, grief, loss, and sorrow has gripped your families from the shock of having your beloved ripped from your very arms, I cannot say any words that will soothe your pains, for I am no magician. The only thing I will say from the bottom of every heart down here in Florida, we grieve with you. Aye, I too know that same dark cloud that descends upon you after such a terrible twist of fate, but a word from the good book : you shall not know the day, the time, or the hour that our father shall call us home. For those of you that have families, children, spouses, hug them close, because every moment of every day is worth every second in the end. God Bless VT. Go Hoakies!

Chairs empty...beds undisturbed...notebooks left open...lunchdates not kept...phones unanswered...message machines full...friends, classmates, teachers, people we saw on the way to class, in the restaurant, under a tree, chatted with on the stairs, bumped into in the hall, played basketball with, had a study group with, held the door for...Voices we will never hear again and faces we will never see again.  Rest in Peace.

Everyone is worried about the gun safty well I would just like to say that guns don’t kill people, people kill people. If a gun is just laying somewhere it don’t pick it’s self up a person has to pick that gun up. I’m not trying to be mean I want the families to know that they are in my prayers here in West Virginia and all around the world keep that faith GOD well heal. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and hold the ones that made it out and be there for the families that lost a love one and stop worrying about the guns I understand that they are trying to find a better way to make the schools safer but for right now I think that we all just need to keep the families in our prayers. I also think that we need to think of the boys parents you know i’m a mother of 4 and we can raise them the best we can when they get older they are going to do what they want. please please Lets not Make this a hate crime because thats not what it was.

I would like to express my condolences to all the families and friends of the victims of Monday’s tragic events. What has happened at Virginia Tech just makes me speechless and sad. It will only be a small comfort, but my prayers and thoughts are with you all these days.

As the hart panteth after the fountains of water,
so my soul longs for thee, O God.
My soul hath thirsted after the living God;
when shall I come and appear before my God?
My tears have been my bread day and night,
whilst it is said to me each day:
Where is thy God?

My deepest apologies and condolences to everyone at Virginia Tech.  My heart broke as I watched these events unfold.  It is a tragedy of monumental proportions.  I am a member of the news media.  In covering this story for the past couple of days, I can assure you that the President was correct in saying the entire nation is mourning with you.  I pray that God will give you the resolve to be strong and move forward, while never forgetting your friends and loved ones.  They are in a better place.  He never makes a mountain we can’t climb.  The reason we fall is so we can pick ourselves back up.  God be with all of you.
