Condolences, April 18, 2007

I can not believe what has happened and it is hard to understand why. My heart is aching for everyone at Virginia Tech. Watch out for one another, talk with each other, and just being there even when there are no words spoken; this will help any indivdual cope. I will be praying for each and everyone of you and I hope your memories will help you get through the next weeks, months, and years.
Virginia Tech, May GOD be with you to guide you with your pain and sorrow.

I pray for those who try to put blame on the faculty or glorify the sick, INSTEAD OF FOUCUSING ON THE GLORIOUS LIVES OF THOSE WHO MIGHT’VE GONE ON TO RULE OUR COURNTRY ONE DAY AND THOSE THEY LEFT BEHIND!! I pray for those who give a name and /or thought to the evil who thought of only its own evil.

We have five daughters, three college graduates, plus two in college now, and as college grads ourselves, we mourn the loss at your great institution.  We feel the pain of loved ones lost, dreams shattered, fears revived.  We tell our daughters how much we love them all the time.  We know they love us as well.  In times like this, there is no way to be consoled, but just knowing that the friends and loved ones lost or injured in this terrible tragedy, were where they were supposed to be at that moment.  God has a plan for all of us, and in our pain, we know that his plan is being carried out.  We must take comfort in knowing that all things happen for a reason, as difficult as it may be.

We are praying for all of the Virginia Tech family.  The Klears

To all the Hokies everywhere,

Do NOT let this tragedy define who you are.  Do NOT let the face of VT be anything other than the bright smiles of those that were killed & wounded.  They have earned that priviledge.

Celebrate their lives, however short.  Your inspiration goes before you: a child who lived through some of the worst persecution in history to become a teacher in the land of the free who paid his debt with his life to save others. Thank God that even in the worst of times we have heroes to lead us.

We will mourn with you, we will cry for you, we will stand beside you.

Nikki Giovanni sums up the American Spirit, we do not bow down to fear, bullying, or pain, we simply perservere through pure human will, to make our lives and our surroundings a better place to live with our neighbors.  Thoughts and prayers from CT.

I am a mommy of an almost 2 yr old child and even tho she is still very young but still wouldnt know what I would do if GodForbid something was to happen to her ... Everyone who passed in this tragedy is someone’s child and its a shame that such a horrifying thing happened. Unfortunately this has been a hard lesson for everyone to reflect upon to insure that hopefully something of this magnitude doesnt reoccur b/c we dont want history to repeat itself. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Everyone at Virginia Tech who was directly and indirectly affected by this tragedic moment.
Think of the precious moments you have with your loved ones..Bless

My heart is sodden with sorrow to bursting, as is my face with tears. Faced with this caustic reality, it is time to cry, time to shudder with tears, time to grieve in our own, both personal and collective, ways. The healing from a terrible wound has begun, has a long way to go, but may never cease. Through our grieving, let the best that is in us shine through,as a campus, as an institution, as an embodied Hokie family. Those that have fallen will never be forgotten.

My family and I were extremely upset to hear about the tragedy that occured on campus on Monday.  The toll taken that day is astonishing and has been on my mind for the past few days.  I can only hope that the victims’ families are able to take solace in all the sympathy they are receiving.  I’m sorry.

I studied as an exchange student (from Curtin University in Western Australia) in Ontario, Canada. I know that Curtin has an exchange agreement with VT and that 3 of our students are there. I suppose, being an exchange programme, that 3 VT students are here in Perth. I really feel for everyone who is experiencing this terrible tragedy. I can’t help but imagine myself in the same situation, having lived on campus in an agricultural college town. Millions around the world are in really bad shape over this. People really are crushed by these types of things. May all who have passed in a horrible, terrifying way Rest in Peace. May all families, staff, students and faculty find the strength to forge through this abhorent tragedy.

Peace and Love

A Time Like This

I looked to my creator and said WHY THIS
I looked to my creator with clenched bare fists
I looked to my creator and said PLEASE END THIS
I looked to my creator and that’s when he said, patience my child…I will never leave you in times like this.
Do not mourn, a day is lost lives are gone, for when they were taken I grabbed them and brought them home.

Inspired by the lost loved ones at Virginia Tech, and to those who still find peace in the midst of this madness.
