As a Korean American, my truly heart goes out to the families of the victims.

As a Christian, all I can do is pray for the families, and offer the following verse in hope of comforting those who mourn:

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
-Psalm 34:18

I’m still in shock and can’t believed what’s happened.  It seems unthinkable for me to know that someone would do something like this.  My thoughts and prayers are with the families/friends that are personally affected by this tragic event.  I have several ties to Tech and went there briefly myself and it’s such a loss for the community there.  I’m very glad to see everyone bonding together in unity and showing that Hokie spirit and support.

I extend my deepest condonlences to all the students, faculty and their loved ones. That from all this darkness a bright light will shine and guide them to hope, hope to move on and recover from the tragic events. I myself am a student and cannot help but to mourn with all of you and feel a knot in my stomach and an empty space in my heart at the thought that my school could of fell victim to events like those of Monday. I would like to take the oppurtunity to encourage to tell those that they love How much they love everyday multiple times a day.

To everyone who’s lost someone they love
Long before it was their time
You feel like the days you had were not enough
When you said goodbye.
And to all of the people with burdens and pain
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there’s nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right.

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
And love for the broken heart.
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He’ll meet you wherever you are.
Cry out for Jesus.
Cry out for Jesus.

I am from California and have a Master’s of Arts in Psychology from CAl State LA.  I cannot imagine the pain, sorrow, grief etc. all of you feel at this terrible time.  There are no appropriate words to describe even remotely what all of Virginia Tech studens, faculty and staff must be feeling.

All I am certain of is that I am praying for you.  I think about this quite often throughout the day and feel sad and angry about this tragedy.

Please keep grieving and being with friends and family.  But you must also go through the motions of the day (no matter how difficult a task that is) to recover.

My family continues to pray for everyone involved in this tragedy. We cry, we grieve, we mourn along with you. As a mother of a child heading for college in the fall, my heart aches for all the mothers ... I hate that my child must know this kind of fear and I pray that she doesnt allow it to change who she is ... just as i pray for all the people involved at Virginia tech to not allow this to change who you are ... prayers for strength and compassion for all

This is just a terrible terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the entire Virginia Tech community. I am saddened by the loss of life, especially since they were all college students who were going to really do something with their lives.

Their memory will live on and they must be remembered so incidents like Monday’s will never happen again.

GO HOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April 18, 2007, 9:34pm • San Diego, CA • #23341

My mom is a Hokie at heart and she raised me to know and love everything about VATech, especially the football.  Being a college student and a Hokie at heart the events of Monday have shocked and saddened me. At the convocation on tuesday Nikki Giovanni said it best “We will continue to invent the future through our blood and tears and through all our sadness ... We are the Hokies” and then at the end when everyone came together as one yelling LET’S GO HOKIES! Never in all my life have I ever felt such a strong sense of community and family. It is evident that it is going to take alot of time to heal these wounds, but know that this week that we are all Hokies and we are here for those of you that are hurting. All of my heart and prayers are going out to all the students, faculty and their families, not to mention the whole community of Blacksburg. LET’S GO HOKIES!!!!! God Bless

Ive been with Tech for 7 years now and I am very much a part of the
Hokie Family.  I can’t put in to words the way I feel about the tragedy
that struck our family on Monday, but I can say that nothing will tear
us apart.  Everyone was personally affected by this but my heart really
goes out to those who lost a loved one.  You will forever be in my
heart, thoughts and prayers.

In addition I would like to thank President Stieger, his staff and all
of the VT Law Enforcement for their efforts.  I feel with 100% certainty
that you made the best judgements based on your information and I am
truely disturb by the media’s attemt to discredit your efforts and
sincere concern for the student body.
