We little knew that morning That God was going to call Your name.  In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories Your love is still our guide. Though we cannot see you, You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken And nothing seems thge same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

VT students,

I heard the sad news when I got home from work on April 16th.  My first reaction was to call my son who attends Eastern University State College in Connecticut to make sure he was safe.  I usually call him once a week to touch base.  Now I call him every night.

So sorry for your loss.

As an Alumni of VT and a friend of one of the victims, I know what youre feeling.  Lets just remember all of the good days that our friends and family members have led that brought us to April 16, 2007.  Lets not dwell on the one bad day that was experienced.

We will never understand what goes through the minds of people who create such tragedy and provoke such pain. At a moment like this we have consolation in our faith and the idea that our loved ones will be in a place of peace and without the pain that took them away from us. May the Lord welcome them in Heaven. May the Lord give consolation to their loved ones. May the Lord give us all peace. Today, we are all Hokies. God bless, Maria

Dear Virginia Tech students and faculty,
I am so sorry to hear of the tragedy that has befallen your school. I may not go there and never considered it a school of choice for me, but having a friend there it touched me as much as I’m sure it touched the families of all of you. This is something that did not and will not affect your school community or the families of those there, but it affects all of us as a nation, because there is not a place you can go in this country without at least one person saying “Hey, I know someone at Virginia Tech.”

I continue to see the sadness and grief, as two from my area were taken in this, and all I can say is may God bless and keep those of you that made it through this. May He protect you all, guide you and help you to endure the pain and suffering this has caused you. Many colleges and faith communities are praying for you, and I hope you keep that in mind and are blessed knowing that so many people that may never meet you are looking out for you and those around you.

I may not bleed orange and maroon, but I feel as though I do right now. For one day, the entire nation was filled with Hokies.

God bless you all,

I was so shocked to hear about this horrible horrible situation at your campus. Its so hard to imagine how one person can take some many lives.  My daughter goes to OSU, I cannot imagine her going through this. I wish I could take away any pain for any one involved.  I think this is a huge wake up call to our goverment about mental health issues in this country.  Pro active not after the fact.  Please know that my heart goes out to all of you.  May you feel the Lords peace, and know that the victims that have passed are in God’s paradise.

There are no words that can ease the amount of pain that this atrocity has caused…

My thoughts are also for Cho. He appears to have been a very misunderstood individual who had a life just like everyone else that unfortunately passed away in this tragedy. I hope that this reminds us all to be human beings to EVERYONE, and take care of each other no matter how difficult it is. Whatever Cho’s motives were, he believed in them. I hope people will remember his tortured soul in this sad time.

Although I have no idea what a “hokie” is, watching the news over the past few days has helped me figure it out.

A hokie stands up even as his world is crashing down around him.
A hokie comforts those around him even though he himself stands in need of comfort.
A hokie is strong even when life threatens to make him weak.
A hokie trusts in God even as darkness seems to reign.
A hokie is an undeniable symbol of the American character.
A hokie never has been and never will be defeated.

And as we grieve with those at Virginia Tech, people across the nation, even the world, have come to find that we are all hokies from this moment on.

Much love.
