Condolences, April 18, 2007

I don’t think there is any way to put into words how much we feel for the families, friends, and those who lost their lives, or were injured at VA Tech. I was truly chilled to the bone when I heard the news.  I can say that they will all be remembered, and never forgotten.  My family and I are praying for the victims & their families.
May God Bless.

To the Hokie Community ~~~ No words can express our sorrow over your loss; and we are certain that your sorrow feels unbearable. We are also certain that you will comfort and care for Hokie loved ones around you to ease their pain during this time of grieving.

But you are VIRGINIA TECH and you will recover. There is so much that you all can and should be proud of ~ your school, your friends, your community, and your Hokie ‘network’ that stretches thruout the World. Now is the time for grieving, and we share in your grief.

Tomorrow we will look forward to those first few steps to your recovery and then your resumption of greatness. Afterall, you are VIRGINIA TECH.

I am sadded by this. I feel sorry for Cho too. You want to know why. He probably had a really horrid child hood. Being surrounded by hate can really p*ss somebody off. I will always remember the ones who were murdered; but too will I remember Cho. And I wont remember his as someone who killed; but as someone who wasn’t afraid to show his feelings.

My prayers and condolences are with everyone that was effected by this senseless tragedy.  To the families and friends of the victims:  My heart goes out to each and everyone of you.  I can not even start to comprehend what you are going through.  But I do know that God will be there with you each step of the way.  Never let their memory die, celebrate their lives and keep them in your heart.

To all Virgina Tech members my name is Amanda Neal and I am from Titusville PA I go to the Titusville Area High School and I am in 10th grade I just want to say I am praying for you every minute I can, seeing them pictures and stuff on TV really hit me I was seriously touched to imagine that innocent people were injured and killed it really scares me to think about the people that think this is all a joke and what they might do because they think they might get away with it they just don’t realize that it not only hurts who they injure or kill :but everyone such as the community like we keep seeing time and time again. It amazes me that when something this drastic happens everyone pulls together like a family, which is a great thing thats why we’re called Americans. I am praying for the students and staff, and as the bible says mourn with those who mourn and I am definately mourning with you guys!!!
Love and Prayers,

Dear Students , and Families

I was so devistated when I heard the awful news on TV.  I can’t believe how someone can do something this sick .  My heart goes out to the poor victims and their families. May God help you all through this difficult time.
This is so sad and so very unfortunate.  Colleges need to tighten up on security measurements to help prevent things like this from happening.
My prayers are with you all.

How does one even begin?  My 30th birthday was on April 16th, there was no celebration.  We morned the shocking loss as if we were directly related to each and every one.  There really are no words.  There probably will not be any real answers to the unconscionable deed.  Lets not give him the power to make us scared, unite and morn but be strong and continue in the face of ugliness.  Use your power to change the laws for the mentally ill.

If I Should Go

If I should go before my time
My spirit leave my body behind
I am alive, I do not die
abiding with my Lord Most high

If I should go and leave you here
You will weep but do not fear
I will be well, I will be whole
for I gave Jesus my soul

If I should go, remember me
Our days of sun and childhood dreams
The time we had to love and give
now just beyond the stars I live.

If I should go, violence take my life and breath
Make my eyes to close in death
Honor my life with peace when you remember me
I will remain in your heart and forever a HOKIE !

Remember me,
If I should go.

As a fellow member of the academic community, this recent tragedy has a profound impact. Universities are seen as a safe haven for freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and personal growth. How tragic, that such a vibrant community of learning and discovery has been marred by such a senseless act of ignorance and fear.

My thoughts and condolences go out to the entire Hokie community, on my behalf and on behalf of the entire Northwestern University family.

The sadness our nation feels will never be enough to all of you.  Anyone that has attended college and felt the family presence you become knows how much this hurts.  I graduated less than a year ago and I it leaves me short of breath to think it could have been me, my friends, my mentors, and or my peers.  You are in my heart and prayers.  Lean on each other.  As a university you become a family and as a family you become ONE....

I said, “God, I hurt.” And God said, “I know.”
I said, “God, I cry a lot.”
And God said, “That’s why I gave you tears.”

I said, “God, I’m so depressed.”
And God said, “That’s why I gave you sunshine.”
I said, “God, life is so hard.”
And God said, “That’s why I gave you loved ones.”

I said, “God, my loved one died.” And God said, “So did mine.”
I said, “God, it’s such a loss.”
And God said, “I saw mine nailed to the cross.”

I said, “God, but your loved one lives.”
And God said, “So does yours.”

I said, “God, it still hurts.” And God said, “I know.”

I’d like to send all my love and prayers to the families and victims involved in the Virginia Tech Massacre, and also to those student attending Virginia Tech.  I have never felt so affected by something so much in my life that I wasn’t directly affected by.  I will continue to pray every night for the victims and families, and as a highschool student I know that my school is mourning for everyone as well. Even though I may not know anyone involved with this I love every one of you and send all the love and support I possibly can.  Keep your head high and know that we will get through this.
