Students and Faculty of Virginia Tech and the parents who have lost loved ones:
My wife, my son and I wish to express our profound sympathy and express our condolences for your horrific loss.  However, after what we have seen on the news media the past two days, we are convinced that your spirit and pride will prevail, and you will remain a proud Hokie Nation.  As our son is a college student at Blue Ridge Community College, we especially grieve with all the parents of the deceased students.  May God be with all of you in these trying days.

To the Virginia Tech Community:

Mere words cannot express my deep sympathy and sorrow for the tragic loss of life that occurred at Tech this week. I pray for the families and friends who lost loved ones.  I cry and grieve with you.  I am so sorry.

April 18, 2007, 8:30pm • Richmond, VA • #22278

I graduated from Tech in 1996 with a Ph.D degree. Hokie spirit is in my blood and in my soul. My wife said I was sadder than when my father died a year ago. Every time a Tech game was on TV, I would keep saying “Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech...” while watching. Now I can’t hold my tears every time I hear “Virginia Tech” on TV or radio or whenever it comes to my mind.

My heart goes to all the victims of the tragedy. No matter which world we live in, We are all Hokies, forever, and ever.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the V Tech community.  I would also like to commend the students of this sensless tragedy for the grace and dignity they have shown thru this ordeal. The people of Virginia, Blacksburg and the whole country should be proud of the way these wonderful young people have reacted. In spite of this awful tragedy watching these young people, the future of our country has given us all some hope.  Lets get Cho out of the news and show more of what our country is really about, the young heros of Virginia Tech.  Go Hokies!!

This is a time of sorrow, of reflection, of healing…
For those of you sharing experiences from Monday, thank you for your honesty, your bravery & for reaching out to the world with your words. It is sad, yet comforting to hear the stories of today’s heroes & protectors; people looking out for one another regardless of race or religious belief. The blood shed was the same color. We must look to healing these wounds & bond together as a human race to overcome.

Sincere condolences to all. These shots were felt around the world.
May we keep ALL those affected by this tragedy in our constant prayers: the victim’s families and friends, and include Cho’s family - as they are also victims in this madness… it must be heartbreaking. Please help them know they can be comforted in the kindness that is at the root of all humanity.

Hokies: Hold precious the life that has been given you & stand as strength & examples for the world.
Wishing all heartfelt prayers & peace at this very difficult time.
Prayers DO work, there IS someone listening & there IS a purpose to this life. Your Heavenly Father loves you very much & is mindful of you!
God Bless,

Although my family lives in a small town in Pennsylvania, our hearts feel as if we are there and sharing in this tragedy with all of you.  As I look at my 2 year old daughter, I pray that someday she will be able to live in a world of peace and love and never have to witness or ask me why these things happen. You are all in our hearts and prayers.

I was shocked when I heard about the news, sitting in my car with my girlfriend, I did not believe something like this could happen. I feel terrible, but know that I could not feel anywhere near how you all feel. I don’t believe in God, but I believe in God as a community. And I know for a fact that that community is here for all of you right now and forever.

Oh Lord, I ask for you to protect the hearts of the ones who have suffered from this attack. Let not the enemy decieve them and manipulate them so that this great evil and the pain from it be used to question your sovereignty. Instead, use this to draw them closer to you. Help them find rest in you. Let those who had not perceived their need for you before this find you and the peace you freely offer, the peace that passes understanding. Thank you, Jesus, for loving us unconditionally.
