It is during these dificult times that we must look onto the Lord for the strength that is needed for those who suffer most. For those who have passed through the most unthinkable tragedy, they are in a better place where they will forever live in a place of peace next to our Lord. For those that are left behind to mourn, the memories of the Love Ones will forever live.
For those that have suffered through this tragedy...May God Bless you and be in your hearts.

No words are enough to convey the sadness to you all, classmates, friends, teachers, Mom & Dads, Brothers & Sisters of those who went before us.  Wish there was something we could do to take away a bit of your sorrow.  May their memories give us strength to press on, to make this earth more loving, less hatred, with the hope of that beautiful place called heaven.  May God’s merciful hands be visbile by us all.

As a former graduate student of Dept of ESM, I still could not believe shch horrible thing could happen in Norris Hall, where I was taking classes, talking to professors/fellow students and defending my thesis/dissertation. I had very nice memories of Norris Hall and Blacksburg. I’m very saddened that so many inocent people got killed and my heart goes out to them and their famillies.

Dear Katie, Josh, and Bobby- I am so glad you are all safe. Josh and Bobby, I know you all dropped what you were doing and went to your rescue squads- always selfless and wanting to help. LoCo fire rescue love to you both. Katie, my best friend of 10+ years (and brother Ryan)- you’re my second sister and I’m without words as how grateful I am that you’re both alive today. The five seconds between when I called and you answered Monday seemed like eternity. My heart breaks for your school.

Today almost all of the nurses in the Emergency Department at UVA (where I work) were wearing your ribbons, and when I went to get one, the nurse who had them said that he had had a big bag of them but “they were gone in a matter of seconds.” I think speaks volumes as to how much everyone cares and is thinking about you all. The school spirit everyone has exhibited is phenomenal despite all of the horrible sadness students are feeling.

Take care and God Bless- from Charlene, UVA; the UVA Emergency Department; and the UVA Pediatric Emergency Department

I am deeply saddened and shocked at the tragedy that happened at Virginia Tech. We send our children to schools that we feel are safe. My heart and prayers go out to the students and faculty and families of Virginia Tech. You will be forever in my heart. Remember you are not alone and many are also mourning your loss.
We may not have known your child, sister, brother, father, husband or wife personally but any loss of life in this manner needs to be mourned by all. May God be with each and every one of you in your time of loss.
Your family has shown remarkable strength & fortitude throughout this ordeal and we as a world should look up to all the people of VT!

My heart breaks for you all. I know that no words can take away the pain and suffering that all the friends, families, and faculty are feeling. I just wanted to say that it may help in some small way to know there is a family here in Louisiana that is praying for you all. May God stay close by your sides, and hold your hearts in his hands, and may you find some small comfort in knowing that strangers prayers and hearts are right there with you all.

As We sat in the Raleigh Airport on Monday after visiting our daughter at UNC all eyes were focused on the televisions with the unfolding horror at VT. I began to cry for the parents and families of the wounded. I can only imagine the sadness that must be in your hearts. Please know that we all are praying for you. Judging by the biographies of each of your children our world will truly miss their potential and presence. God Bless you all.

I was actually supposed to be at school there and I was one of the lucky ones who did not loose friends or family and I am so thankful. Despite this, I feel like a part of the hokie family because I have family friends and former high school friends who experienced this terrible tragedy. My thoughts, prayers, and tears are there for everyone affected by these events at Virginia Tech. I hope to call Tech home in a couple of years. I can’t wait to be a part of this community. I cannot fathom the pain, anger, confusion, sadness and shock that the VT community is facing.  As a college staff member, I can’t help but realize that this could have easily happened anywhere, even on my campus.  Having come to Greenville from Roanoke, VT was always a neighbor geographically; now they are a neighbor in my heart and thoughts.  I feel for the students, staff, faculty and families that are trying to come to grips with this horrific experience.  Please know the entire East Carolina University community is praying for you, VT....

May God Bless you all...our hearts, thoughts and deepest prayers are with you

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
