I cannot begin to decribe the deepest sorrow that I feel for the students, faculty, alumni, and the community that surrounds Virginia Tech.
Even though we are so far away we feel your pain as if it was our own.  May you find the courage and strength to endure what is happened now and proceed into the future. Your strength has inspired and touched all who has heard about this horrific event.  May God bless you all in this time of need. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

But the only thing we can do if offer our sincere sondolences and prayers for all of you. during this time of terrible loss, we all feel like we are a part of the VT Nation, taking part in your mourning and grief of the young lives that were stolen from you and the world.

During this time we all will go thru so many emotions, and anger is one of them. But the person we should be angry at is dead. We should not take our anger out on the university, the law enforcement or each other. Things happen that sometimes are out of our control, no mater how prepared we are, things happen.  In time’s like these our strength has to be in God and each other. May God bless and comfort everyone that this has effected.

My prayers and sympathy go out to all of the families of this horrific, useless, violent slaying of these innocent people.  I have a grand daughter who will be entering the academic world soon and I am concerned even now about her.
I am sure together you will get thru this and it has to be a take a day at a time.  Parents should never outlive their children so I can not imagine what these people are enduring.  I am so so sorry.

My words will be of no comfort so although I do share the same thoughts as everyone else who has signed, I offer myself as an ear to vent to and a friend to talk to if its needed. I thankfully have no experience with anything like this but theres not much more I can do.
I wish you all the very best that can come from a tragic event like this.

A senseless annihilation of brilliant, young minds;
The agonizing tears of the mothers, the fathers, the sisters, the brothers left behind.

A peaceful community shattered by man’s inhumanity to man;
Dons the breastplate of honoring their neighbors the best they can.

A Holocaust survivor for whom Kaddish will be said;
While other religions offer prayers for the dead.

Waves upon waves of candle lights in the dark;
Wrestle with the unmarked path so difficult and stark.

A nation stunned by the loss of thirty-two;
Strives for a spiritual connection be they Hindu, Moslem, Catholic or Jew.

For fallen comrades are they to us all;
Who had dreams and aspirations ever so tall.

May the eternal light shine upon them;
May their memories ever be blessed; and,
May they be granted eternal rest.  Amen.

I will continue to feel this way for always. I just wish I was there right now, so I can share this terrible moment with my fellow Hokies. God Bless You All.

Fortunately, mankind has been gifted with free will.  We can all make choices- even if those choices lead to tragedy, like the events on the VT campus.  But we survivors can make a choice too… We can choose hope over despair, faith over fear, and we can choose to reach out and aid those we see are troubled.  This is a wonderful opportunity to prove the good of humankind uniting to help those the bad of humankind has damaged.

My sincere condolences to the friends and family of everyone who has passed on this week… I too have had the loss of loved ones, and I understand.  I hope in time you find peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your’s at this time. It is best to remember the good times and not dwell on the “what if’s”. Losing someone special is the worst pain to ever feel, but feel blessed that you had the opportunity to know them, feel them and be with them - even if for a short time.
Now they are watching over you.. your forever Guardian Angel..

I am so so sorry at what happened.  Many of our future leaders were taken from us by a mentally ill person that needed help I guess.

May God Bless each and everyone at VT!  And I must say what a wonderful President you have at your university and the sr. administration is impacable at how they handled the situation.  I don’t see how it could have been handled any better.

This tragedy was a horrible day in history, it is one that will not be forgotten. There is no excuse that can justify the actions of this troubled individual, but there is good that can be the result of such tragedies.  What is good is the renewed sense of love, closeness, empathy and community among Virginia Tech students, faculty and the nation at large.  It is important to maintain this sense of spirit and allow this to serve as a reminder to let the people in your life know how much you care about them and lend a helping hand because you will never know who you will see tomorrow.  My condolences to everyone whose life was affected by this tragic incident. - Daniel S.

According to Chinese proverb, “Don’t curse the darkness--light a candle.”

May you find strength not only from the candles you hold, but the candles held by a nation that mourns with you.  May you find peace from the prayers and thoughts provided to support you.  May we all recognize the value of civility, appreciate its worth, and contribute to its existence. Apr. 16, my birthday.
After my students sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to me, after we shared candy, the campus shooting happened on the other side of the world.
Why? God, why?
After crying and praying, I then understand God wanted to remind me - some people are suffering and we should always think of others and love them as we love ourselves.

God bless all of you in Virginia and all of us in the world.

I cannot put into words how deeply sorry I am for the loss the VT family has experienced.  Years ago the University of Florida experienced a similar tragedy with the loss of 5 young people at the hands of a monstrous killer.  At that time we wondered if Gainesville would ever be safe or if we could ever heal.  Even after 17 years the lost are still in our thoughts and their families are in our prayers.  Although you can never forget the tragedy you can move forward.  We feel your pain and mourn along side each and every one of you as we have been there.  Stay strong and take support from one another and know that the Gator Nation is praying for the Hokie Nation.

Go Hokies…Go Gators!
