I’m soory this all happened. I’m korean and i feel ashamed of my self thinking that people won’t except us in colleges or anything. I heard today that American people came into a shop owned by a Korean and ruined everything. It wasn’t our fault so why do that? What about The Columbine Tradgedy? Did koreans do it? No. So why be so mad at us when you should be mad at yourselves.

I wish the best to not only the families and friends of the victims, but to the whole community. Words cannot even fathom how upsetting this whole tradegy is. I watched a show on TV about the massacure, and I was almost in tears...a very rare thing for me…

On the morning of April 16, 2007, 32 beautiful, promising, and innocent lives were tragically and prematurely lost at the hands of an evil, miserable madman. Until today, I was completely shocked and devastated. Today, however, I have wept constantly, plagued by the thought that these 32 special and wonderful lives will never return and that their families, friends, classmates, neighbors, and other loved ones will never see them again, never hear their voice again, and never hug them again. It is miserably overwhelming. I can only hope and pray for their families and loved ones during this impossibly difficult time, that their spirits will be with them everywhere they go, and that their loved ones will one day be reunited with them; I hope that they are in a much better, safer, and happier place.  I am deeply sorrowful and overwrought with grief.

I know there are and will be many memorials and tributes to the 32 innocent victims, and I hope that this memorial website will serve as another cross for all of them, one in which everyone’s condolences and words of comfort and remembrance will help to console the grieving and those left behind.

Virginia Tech will be remembered for this trajedy, however, it should not be remembered for anything but the victims. No fingers should be pointed, no one deserves the blame. Though it could happen anywhere, no one knew it would happen here. As a senior in high school, I am preparing for my own college venture. Virginia Tech was my school of choice and still is. As a future VT student, I will help others to remember the lives that were lost.

This is part of a poem that helped me years ago when a friend lost her son.
My son is a VT 2004 graduate.  Please remember a nation grieves with you and the arms of the VT family both on campus and across the world hold you close to our hearts.

“I’ll loan you for a little time,
A child of mine,” God said,
“For you to love while she lives
And mourn for when she’s dead.”

“It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you till I call her back,
Take care of her for me?”

“I’ve looked this wide world over,
In my search for teachers true.
And from the crowds of this great land,
I’ve selected you.”

“Now will you give her all your love
Not think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take her back again?”

It seems to me I heard them say,
“Dear Lord, thy will be done.
For all the joys a child shall bring,
The risk of grief we’ll run.”

“We’ll shelter her with tenderness,
We’ll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known
Forever grateful stay.”

“And should the angels call for her
Much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand.”

God Bless the Virginia Tech Family.

Its sad that this young man thought his own life was so bad, that instead of seeking help, he choose to take his own life and the lives of others. He will not get to see the years of pain these families will have to deal with. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends going through this terrible tragedy now. God Bless you all.

Though all of you are so far away, it still affects myself any many other students here in Canada. My heart goes out to all the students at VT and the families affected. Gun control, I believe, is the first step in preventing these kinds of tragedies. Though we have troops in other countries fighting “wars”, nothing can compare to the safety of the citizens back home. Step by step, the government needs to take a look at all the small catalysts which result in such horrific events.

Life Goes On

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower
Nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I am gone
Speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves
That I have known

Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So .... sing as well
Joyce Grenfell

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a 1,000 winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sun on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled light
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there; I did not die.
