Condolences, April 18, 2007

We pray for peace and brotherhood within the educational institutions...a sacred place should not be turned into a scared place for future students.I understand NO words can fill the loss of their beloved family member.May God give peace to souls of everyone who were brutally killed and heartfelt consolations to their families.

I have watched this horrible event as everyone else around the world. I am sickened and heartbroken.It is not the world we all relate to.My heart is heavy andbeyond sad as I see what has happened.But i have adifferent perspective in that I also grieve for the young man who did this.How sick must he have been? Who in their right mind would do such a thing? I cant imagine the pain!We are all human and for whatever reason this person did’t know it. Did’t feel it. He had noone to relate to and i am sure that he had a serious mental illness that noone helped him with.I have learned much about mental illness in the last few years and it is scary!!! No one wants to discuss it .I am sure that mental illness is responsible for so much of these horrible, unexplainable events. It is an illness!!!I am still so sorry for what you have endured. Just know that so many are praying for you and we will never forget.

Oprah is on right now talking about the victims and while sometimes these kind of shows can be morose it helps make us understand these were people who were daughters, sisters ,sons ,brothers etc.  and not just a news story.  Our sincerest condolences to the families.  Joanne

The everlasting God has in His wisdom foreseen from eternity the cross that He now presents to you as a gift from His inmost heart. This cross He now sends you He has considered with His all-knowing eyes, understood with His divine mind, tested with His wise justice, warmed with loving arms and weighed with His own hands to see that it be not one inch too large and not one ounce too heavy for you. He has blessed it with His holy Name, anointed it with His consolation, taken one last glance at you and your courage, and then sent it to you from heaven, a special greeting from God to you, an alms of the all-merciful love of God. - St. Francis De Sales

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The Lord answered and said, “The boy,
My lamb, was not meant for your
flock for long, for he is a part of My
flock , and will forever be.
Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and
will be comforted as you cannot imagine.
His parents will one day join him here,
and they will know peace, and
My flock will continue to grow.”

We are horrified,
We are speechless…

We will not be afraid.

We will cry and hug,
We will grieve and morn…

We will not be afraid.

We will learn,
We will grow…

We will not be afraid.

Your hate will not soon leave us,
But your actions will not define us…

We will not be afraid.

You have stolen a part of us,
But not the Hokie heart that beats within us…

We will not let you.
We will not be afraid!

My prayers go out to the families. As I was watching the news last night; I tried to make since of it all but could not. Not in my own understanding; I then read In Touch magazine put out by Charles Stanley, dated Tuesday 17th “Our Heavenly Home”. It talks about our Heavenly Home “The abundant life in Christ will be a perfect reality there, as pain and suffering cease to exist” Then I fell off to sleep and had a dream of God gathering the angels together before the shooting and saying come, we have to get the house ready we have 33 coming home today. I believe they are all home with our Heavenly Father.

In Jesus name we Pray, Amen

When I was considering colleges to attend, I was won over by the strong sense of community that was evident in Blacksburg.  It is that sense of community that will fortify us in this time of great sorrow.

To the current students of Virginia Tech:  you will be held up by your brothers and sisters who have graduated before you.  We mourn with you, and lift you up.

Ut Prosim - more than ever before, we should focus on this ideal.

God Bless.

I lay in bed last night and prayed for Virginia Tech and all those involved in this horrible event.  I share your pain, discomfort, grief, and disbelief as I watch CNN and Fox Network.  These networks help me to feel apart.
My prayers are that you gain strength, that you are comforted, and that God wipes your tears away.  I pray that God provides all of you with peace that surpasses understanding.  Others are sharing in the pain with you.

Dearest members of the Virginia Tech community and those families that have been impacted by this tragedy,

As a college student, there is no one word to describe this event. I, along with other members of a college student body, hope that those who had been effected by this are able to have time to grieve.
I personally pray that these individuals will be strong and continue onward. I hope that these families of those who lost their lives know that no matter what, they are comforted.
It is a time for all of us students, faculty, and staff, to become a united front against violence in our schools (elementary through college and beyond) and to understand that as members of the education community we are to come one.
Again, I pray that all those families and people who knew of those lost, spend time now, healing.
May we bless for their recovery and give them strength to carry onward as united, both as a community and campus. God Bless all of Virginia Tech, college campuses across the country and world affected, and the families and friends of the victims.

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me for now...I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call…
I tunedmy back & left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found my place at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss!
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow;
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow;
My lif’s been full, I savored much;
Good friend, good times a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief;
Lift up your heart & share with me…
God wanted me now...He set me free…

After the initial shock wears off, the media will start pointing fingers.  The fact is, horrible things happen everyday to wonderful people.  Only God knows why and only He can make sense of this tragedy.
