Condolences, April 18, 2007

My dear Virginia Tech Staff and Students,

Romans 8:28a And we know that in all things God works for good of those who love Him.

James 1:2-3,12 Condiser it pure joy, my bothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

I hope these are helpful! My prayers go out to all of you invovled! Stay strong and be brave!

In Christ,
Tiffany Kelly

Virginia Tech
I am a normal girl who likes to play and have fun
I wonder why people have to take out anger with guns
I hear the sorrow of loved ones that have college kids lives taken away
I see kids souls, who had so much potencial, snatched by a roune peice of metal
I want to help them but know i cant
I am a normal girl who likes to play and have fun
I pretend i don’t have a brother who is also an enginer going to college
I feel the anxiety of the mothers who don’t know wether or not they sill have a child
I touch the mind of the sisters who regret things they might have said and not have said
I worry for all the siblings through a tragedy like this
I cry for all the fathers with young athletes who will never catch another ball
I am a normal girl who likes to play and have fun
I understand that nothing i say or do will take away the grief
I say don’t do things you’ll regret, but did anyone think their life would end so soon
I dream of the day that no one will be apprehensive about their children leaving
I try not to let my parents worry but in this day and age it’s hard
I hope that those who have died find peace where they rest
I am a normal girl who likes to play and have fun sydney r.

To all who have been affected by this tragedy at VT.  There are so many posts with eloquent words, thoughts, and prayers, that say what we all are thinking, feeling, and praying.  Just wanted to add that the nation, the world grieves with you all, and even those of us across this country have heavy hearts.

Do not forget while we grieve for the families and the victims that the family of Cho Seung-Hui must also be grieving and wondering how and why their loved one could have done this. We must also pray for them, and for the tortured soul of their loved one.

God, please bless all those who are affected by this week’s tragedy. Let them know Your mercy, and Your everlasting love.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those that have been affected by this horror. As a mother of a soon to be college student, I am horrified that this could ever happen. So many lives cut short by violence. Maybe these lives lost can help others from being taken by this type of violence. Let us learn from this horror and prevent it from happening again. May these lives lost never be forgotten.

Dear Faculty & Students,

I do not have enough words to express how sorry I am to hear about what happened and to know about the lives that were lost this week in your campus. I speak for my self as an alumni of the University of Miami, but my heart right now is with the Hookies and I hope that someway, somehow you all can find peace. May god bless and I will always be thinking of all of you.

God Bless all those affected by this act of anger.  The living defeat this act of horror by their unity and willingness to carry on with their lives.  Anger is defeated with love and by my observasions of the Virginia Tech community this unspeakable act of destruction has been soundly overcome.  My prayers are with the Hokies.

Dear Students, Faculty, Alumni and Friends,
While my own sense of sadness and loss must pale in comparison to those experiencing this first-hand, just know that the nation is mourning with you. Do not worry that this terrible tragedy should reflect poorly on Virginia Tech. Quite the opposite as we have watched your community come together and set an admirable, amazing example of strength, support and resilience. You have shown yourselves to be true leaders and compassionate human beings. I look forward to today’s students graduating and channeling their energies into making our world a better place.

My fellow UVA alumni and I will proudly don the Maroon and Orange this Friday, showing our Hokie Pride, our Hokie Spirit and our love and support for our collegiate brothers and sisters. God bless you all.

Students, Faculty, Parents and Friends,

I am an adult and a parent and I am grieving for the loss you and this nation have suffered.  Mere words cannot express the saddness that I feel for you all.  No one should ever have to suffer such a senseless act and everyone is left to wonder why.

Somehow I pray that you will all find a way to go on and find peace in all of this.  I can only say that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

To those who are suffering the loss of a loved one from this terrible shooting rage.
My husband and I sat here watching the Memorial on TV hurting with you. It is so sad to see something like this happen. To do the best for our children, then something like this to take them from us for no reason. I know there isn’t much one can say at a time like this, but our hearts and prayers are with you all. They need not be afraid anymore, but we still have to fear who is at our back. The loved ones that have been taken away from us are now at rest and no longer in pain.

To those of you who are still healing from your wounds, may God strengthen you and make you stronger each and every day. May you find true peach with God knowing that you did your best in trying to cover your friends backs.
We are only here for a short time, but things like this are not called for. God be with you all and may it comfort you to know that there are many out here that hurt for you and your loved ones as well. You are in our prayers. God be with you all until you and your loved ones meet again. “We will all meet again” on another shore.

Even though we are far away in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, we share in the loss of many lives. It makes us think if anyone is really safe in this world. Many Newfoundland and Labrador students share with you our condolences. However, this should not be a time of sorrow, but a time for celebration of the lives of the students and staff who left this earth before their time. This devastation has touched the lives of many of us here in our Province and in our country Canada.

On behalf of my family and myself we grieve with you at this time and wish the best to everyone in the future. May all your wishes and dreams be fulfilled.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

We recenly lost a dear one to an untimely death.  These words helped ease some of the pain.  May you too take comfort in them:

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

How do you hang on to yesterday with the memories of friends and family that you thought where here to stay

What would you have said to those you love in the short seconds you had to say what you needed to say

Do you wish you could go back into the hands of time and ask them to hold on to give you one more try

Life is so quick to change in the blink of an eye with the only thing left is for tears that you cry

It takes years to forget the pain, and a lifetime to forget there smiles, laughs and names

When you look up in the sky now it has a whole new meaning now knowing the ones you love are up there kneeling

And some how threw the pain of this all you have to forgive him its the right thing to do and pray hard for his family there hurting like you

Only God knows why this tragedy came about He knows what he is doing no matter how loud you shout

How do we stop this from happening again..thats what you hear all day on CNN

We all know there is nothing that can be done, its part of life remember God gave us his son.

So instead of gossip on the t.v. and radio get on your knees and ask the lord above pray for the families the victims of that gun

But more than ever pray for the soul that cannot be undone
