I offer my most sincere condolences and prayers for strength during this difficult time.  As a fellow Virginian and UVA graduate living and working in Ohio, I was deeply affected by this tragedy.  But from the friendly rivalry between UVA and VT, there is one thing I am certain of-your school has great spirit, and it is that Hokie pride that will get you through this eventually.  God bless all members of the Virginia Tech community.

Our prayers are with the familys of those that have lost and been subjected to this unjustly act. I personally dont know anyone envovled. My heart goes out to each lost, each scared and person that was effected. I dont have an answer to this. I can pass along from my own lost to encourage you to celebrate the life that was precious to each of you. Remember how great it was to have loved them. When I heard of this tragedy early Monday morning I was absolutely horrified.  I have a young daughter who isn’t even of school age.  It scares me daily that at some point I will have to send her to school, and eventually to college.
I can’t even try to begin to feel the way these parent’s, brother’s, sister’s, son’s, daughters, friends and mentors are feeling since this unforgiveable tragedy.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who have been affected by this tragedy!
All of my love~ Kim, Chris and Samantha

To Virginia Tech,
It deeply saddened me to hear what had happened Monday. As a high school student, it scares me to think that these things can happen to people I care about in places not so far away from my home.
While looking for schools to apply to, I explored VT a little. Everyone I have talked to has been wonderful and helpful and it’s so disheartening to think that people like that would be subjected to a world of violence and terror.
Even though I am a fan of the University of Virginia, I will still be supporting Virginia Tech Friday by wearing orange and maroon.
Please know that people around the world are thinking and praying for you. We are supporing you and holding you up.
I’m hoping you heal, as individuals and a community, fast. You are loved across America.
God Bless,
Emily Baxter

I want the families of the victims to know they are in our thoughts and prayers.  I lost a child at Lees Mcrae,a college 90 miles from Virgina Tech in an auto accident.  The support we received from the college helped us get through some very difficult times.  The families are in shock and I feel their pain and know their suffering greatly.  I feel for every student and faculty member.  God has a plan for all of us,though we do not always understand his ways.  Please know we are praying for healing and strength for the entire community.

This is truly a tragedy for not only Virginia Tech, but the State of Virginia and the United States.  There is a sorrow which cannot be described among the students, teachers and alumni of VT.
May God Bless the families of the victims.  May He wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace in the midst of the storm.
Our prayers are with you now and in the future as you struggle to go on with your lives.

I have shed tears for you, prayed for you and thought so much about you the last few days. I was so impressed during the convocation yesterday.  One of the speakers talked about- Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.  I believe in time your school will be able to overcome the evil that attacked you on April 16, 2007 by the good works and knowledge achieved in the future. The whole world is behind you with prayers, love and hope.

Dear Virginia Tech community,

I have long known and worked with colleagues at Virginia Tech in various fields. Virginia Tech has always impressed me as a university that is not only among the best academically but also--and especially--as one that has heart.

I have been both a professor and a campus minister at several universities in different states and was so glad to hear the comments by the mininsters of different faiths at the memorial service yesterday. I am glad the university is encouraging students to go home and find"hugs wherever they can”.

That the students and faculty have been and are so there for each other in this, that faculty and students literally gave their lives for each other, that is and always will be the best of Virginia Tech and its legacy, and a nation is proud of you. I know that as Dr. Giovanni said so eloquently, Virginia Tech “will prevail”.

Her words struck me as having the same impact as John F. Kennedy’s, “Ich bin ein Berliner.” I’m not an alumn there, even though I’ve had some important ties there. Yet I now feel that I too am Virginia Tech.

God bless you all.

I have written a song for Vt & your families;

“Trust in the Lord, He will be in your tomorrows”,2x

To those who mourn, let us be reborn,

I, your Lord will turn your tears into joy,
tears into joy. 2X

Let us walk in love & kindness 2X

To lift up those that died to our God Above 2X

To those who mourn, let us be reborn,

Let us walk in love & kindness 2X

And see our world turn from hate to love 2X

Turn to your father God in heaven, He will bring you comfort, A comfort to mend your broken heart.

So trust in the Lord, he will be in your tomorrows, in your tomorrows 2X

I am praying for all of you!! God Loves You All!! GB

As we were preparing to watch the NWF Chill Out! program, your name reached out to us, and we paused to think of your greater loss before we shared the our environmental concerns with the some 200 other colleges. There is a bond between institutions of higher education, our common goal of educating individuals and improving society.  Our students, faculty and staff remembered you all this morning in our chapel service as our chaplain prayed for the greiving, the angry, and the damaged soul who unleashed such horror. Please know that you are not alone.
