My heart bleeds for this tragedy, the victims, the friends, classmates, and loved ones, and for the University.  In a world where many fall to anything, Virginia Tech continues to stand—for honor, service, and solidarity.  To meet a fellow Hokie is to never meet a stranger.  Between us is an undefinable bond that can’t be torn, strained, or even nicked.

We are Hokie proud.

To love something is to partake in its suffering, it pain, its healing, and its triumph.  And eventually, its regained joy.

We love you, Tech.

At the core of Virginia Tech is and always has been a value for life, to believe that each person has something special to offer that must be developed, encouraged, and then shared in service to others.  A simple belief that whomever you meet is worth getting to know.  A belief that at Virginia Tech we can better others’ lives with the tools we have gained there.
A belief that there are many good things in life still worth believing in.

This is my Viginia Tech.
We are strong; the Hokie heartbeat will go on.

May God Bless,

I would like to express my sorrow to those who are suffering from their own personal losses. I lost a friend way before his time was up. It seems very unfair but I find that knowing that God loved him so much that He needed him back home is a great way to begin starting over again without that loved one in your life. I pray for those who are suffering tremendous lost and those who need some faith right now. God Bless and I hope that everyone can bond together during this tragic time. Everyone is in my prayers right now. Titus 2:11.

My heart breaks for all Hokies and their familes. I am so sorry this happened to you, and as a college student myself I am deeply hurt by the recent events. Every family and every Hokie, will be in my prayers. I would like to share one of my favorite poems that has helped me through hard times, and I hope it helps you also:

We’re Very Sorry
by James H. Lee Jr.

We’re very, very sorry,
your loved one passed away,
and left you sad and lonely,
with heart filled with dismay.

They’ve gone to join the angels,
and choirs up above,
to share their joy and laughter,
and their eternal love,

With all their friends and family,
the ones who’ve gone before,
who’ve waited long to welcome them
to heaven’s blissful shore.

Their sorrows, trials and problems
no longer plague them here,
and their welcoming committee
has filled their hearts with cheer.

But you, dear friend, must carry on
the work they left undone,
work that needs your doing for
the Father and The Son.

Our hearts go out to you, dear friend,
in sympathy and love,
and pray that God will comfort you
from mansions up above.

“We are all deeply saddened by the events that occurred at Virginia Tech on Monday.  The IALR Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and Virginia Tech graduate students in residence here offer our most sincere condolences to our colleagues at Virginia Tech, to the students, and to all the families involved.  There are no words to ease the grief of the VT family, and no logic or language to explain incomprehensible acts of violence.  At this time, communications can only go heart to heart in unspoken words and prayers.”

To all the students, faculty, family and friends of Virgina Tech…

There are no words to tell you the sadness, grief, and anger I feel for what has happened to you all.  I can only imagine that your sadness, grief, and anger is so overwhelming at the moment.  I am sorry that you have to go through this.

I hope that if only one good thing has been derived from this is that you have reached out to a friend or loved one and told them how important they are to you.  Life is short and we never know if we will be here at the end of each day to share our love with others.

My thoughts are with you Virginia Tech.
