Condolences, April 18, 2007

you guys are in my prayer, as well as in the whole nation’s.
Like President Bush said, you are NOT alone, the whole nation are mourning and praying with you.
In the mean time, pray. Prayer is powerful and important, especially in times like this. It is in times like this that we needed God the most, His healing, comfort and His love.

I wrote this song in tribute to VA Tech and all who were effected. You can download it free at, artist name lamar alexander, title “reach Out”.

Reach Out
tribute to Va Tech
Copyright 2007 LaMar Alexander

Verse 1

Why did you come - into our lives
to bring only pain - and tears to our eyes
we didn’t know you - but maybe we would
if only you reached out - you’d be understood

We are God’s children - put here on earth
no one is better - and no one is worse
if you will just reach out - we could be friends
and maybe, just maybe - the violence will end

Verse 2

Right now there’s someone - alone in there pain
who thinks we don’t care - and we may be to blame
would it be so hard - to offer to help
you might even save them - from a living hell

*repeat chorus 2 times

Oh maybe, just maybe -the violence will end

As a mother, sister and daughter, my heart goes out to all the students, staff and families of VA Tech. It was just about 6 weeks ago when this great country that we live in, was praying for a little town next to me called Enterpirse, AL. I have family there and THANK GOD, they were all ok. The tornado was horrible, but this is much much worse. Now others need my prayers. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. This will never be forgotten, but life will continue and peace will be restored. God Bless all of you!

I express my condolences, for all the pain that those families must be feeling, but pray is not enough, what are you waiting american people, to do something about it, always talking about your way of life and you just let the people buy a gun anywhere and let even a walmart to sell it.  is not just pray think about it.  What happen with your gobernors politicians etc. ask the to use their brains

and really sorry for the families of those students and teachers.

To the entire community of VT....I pray nightly for you that you will find comfort in one another as you continue to grieve over the loss of your loved ones.  I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child, it hurts my heart to think about it.  I know it never gets easier and you will never forget...but remember to NEVER forget how wonderful your children still are, because now they are angels in Heaven.  KEEP THE FAITH!

Dear Faculty, Staff, Students and Family of Virginia Tech,

As an educator I am saddened every time I hear about another school shooting. As Americans we feel your pain and hope that out of the pain comes the strength and courage that it will take to move on.We all know that with all the saddness and the pain in the world that this could happen anywhere. Grieve, yet have faith -for it is our faith that will show us the way.

There are no words to express the horror of this event.  As a mother of an only child in her 2nd year in college, away from home, my heart is just in pieces for the parents and families.  You raise your kids and are just expected to “let them go” well I still dont know how to do that.  My heart, thought and prayers are with you all.

Dear V TEC

I know that the sprits of all your lost love ones will rise up and hold you through this o so very difficult time. Please don’t allow this evil event to shake your determination to be a better person then you where yesterday, let not the wrongs that you have had to endure effect your outlook of the future in a negative way. Instead might you holdfast to the memory of your fallen love ones and allow there spark to keep you motivated and help you heal into an even better person then you where before that very sad day.

For every pound of wickedness that you bequeath upon me, I in return for your offering grant you a mountain of love surrounded by a river of serenity.

keep you heads up!

Ours thoughts and prayers are with all the families that have been affected by this horrible tragedy.  We pray for those mourning the losses of their loved ones and pray for those that need healing physically and emotionally.  I grew up in Salem, VA and now live in Maryland. It is so hard to believe that something like this has affected a wonderful community.  I know many alumni and know students attending now and know how hard this is on all of them and their families.
May everyone have the strength to continue living each and every day.

I am from Arizona, working in London this week when I heard the news. The coverage over here has been very thorough and compassionate, almost what I would have expected if I were in back in the states. Truly the world suffers and mourns with VT and the friends and families of the deceased. During tragic times our human decency and compassion shines through.

Know with certainty that there is a God, and that there exists a world beyond this one - the world of souls.  May God for now, give you everything you need to give Peace to all families in sorrow. To understand why he needed those beautiful people in such a hurry, my guess is he probably needed Angels. For the meaning to our existence. I’m going to find the talent within me
Then develop it to the best of my ability
And I’m going to make the most of this Life
That I have been given
And I’m going to do this
Without infringing upon anyone else’s
Opportunity to do the same
And God replied
‘I couldn’t ask for anything more’”

My deepest sympathy to all of you.  Jose Cuevas and daughter Kirsten Cuevas.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all touched by this tragic event.  My condolences go out especially to the families of the victims.  Your loss is unimaginable.  I am so sorry.  As a member of a college community I personally feel a loss of security.  Colleges are supposed to be places where everyone can be free to learn and express ideas in a safe environment.  It is my ardent wish that the members of the Virginia Tech community will be able to find a new sense of hope and security in the coming days, months, and years.  The spirit and resilience you have demonstarted thus far is truly inspiring. Just know that the thoughts and heartfelt prayers of the world are with you in this most difficult time.
