I am an amateur stand-up comedian in Louisville, Ky. In the week following up to this tragedy the comedy world seemed preoccupied with race relations and the senseless comments made by Don Imus… The loss of innocent lives on your campus serves as an unfortunate reminder to us that we, as a people, need to put these petty differences aside and cherish each other because there are still others among us who don’t care about color, race, creed or religion and won’t hesistate to kill indiscriminately.  Your loss is immeasurable, and we hope that the survivors of the victims are embraced with solace and comfort in this hour.  Take care of each other.

My heart hangs heavy.  As a graduate of Virginia Tech, it is hard to see the tragedy befall the Hokies and the entire nation.  Virginia Tech is such a beautiful and happy place.  Virginia Tech will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am so sorry for this horrific tragedy that you all are experiencing.  I want you to know that every single one of you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Though I can’t even begin to imagine what you all are going through.. My heart aches just from seeing pictures and hearing all the emotion pour out from your hearts.  Stay strong, for this too shall pass.

I truly dont know what to say....

I know words could never express what everyone is feeling. I know that nothing no one says to you will make the pain go away....  I just wanted VT to know that this whole country, and others, are thinking of you and will never ever forget what happened on 4/16. I am praying for all of you and your families. No one should ever have to go through this. But I believe that Virginia Tech will make it through…

Please don’t give up and be strong....
Our prayers are with you.

Psalm 31:7-9,

7 I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.
8 You have not handed me over to the enemy
but have set my feet in a spacious place.
9 Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and my body with grief.

24 Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the LORD.

Our prayers and thoughts are with each and everyone of you at VT and the whole state of Virginia. I can’t imagine what you are going through. The loss of these students and staff is such a tragedy that no one understands. Just continue to keep your faith and trust in God. It takes time and patience but you will prevail. We probably will never know what brought this student to do such a thing as taking all these lives. You have all of America behind you.

I am extremely appaled by what has happened an di would like to share my condolences with the families whose children were victimes of the horrific day.
I hope nothing ever happens like this.
Virginia should not allow children to possess weapons and should change the law, which would prevent such crimes against humanity.

I work in a secondary school in the UK, I also have nephews living and being educated in the U.S.  It is amazing to see the young people grow into mature people with their lives and futures ahead of them.  No one has the right to take away those lives and futures.

Our thoughts and prayers and deep sympathy from the UK go to all those who have died, their families and all who have been injured and affected by this.

Please stop the easy availability of guns.  It might save some lives.

May God give you strength in these horrid times. We pray with you and hope that the souls of the people that have died this unjustified death will rest in peace.

From what we see the people at Virginia Tech have a strong sense of community and are strong as a body. Mourn, cry and never forget the people that have perished but with time, rise above the tragedy and look to the future hoping that time will heal your pain.
