I did not know any of the victims personally but my heart goes out to the families, the school & the entire town of Blacksburg. This hits close to home for me not only do I live here in VA but my daughter graduates this June and will be going off to college in the fall. I’ve shed multiple tears & my heart aches to no end but I am hoping that all the prayers and nationwide support will help in comforting the one’s left behind to pick up the pieces. I realize that there is nothing anyone can say or do to ease the pain, but I just wanted them to know that I care and hold them in my prayers. With deepest sympathy, Shelly Kidwell

Dear all the Families, friends and loved ones of VA Tech,

My heart goes out to each and every one of you. I watched the memorial yesterday and cried for each one of you. God is with each and every one of you in this great time of need. I am from Lakewood Colorado and I remember to this day the Columbine tragedy and still cry about it 8 years later,it was a nightmare and so is what you are all going through. Have faith and I know you will all get through this. I am praying for each and every one of you. May God Bless you always!

Your Smiling faces we saw each day, We never thought you would go away. Such pain inside from such a tragic end,You’ll never know how much we miss you, friends. We saw such hope in all of us.A Doctor, a Teacher, this was a must. Who knew those hopes would soon be crushed. Such dreams of the future can be no more. You see a crazy man walked through our door.He shot our teacher and then our friends. We can’t accept how this story ends! Our world went dark when He brought fear to our eye’s.We just sit down and begin to cry. We’ll make sure your dreams in life won’t end!So much to do now, We “can’t breath in”.Your death so senseless in everyone’s eye’s.We Can’t go back to say goodbye. So instead We’ll move forward with patience and love. For now we say, “see you later in heaven above.” Love, Mary Neiderlander

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

And I’m singing

Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen I’m alive
Singing Amen I’m alive

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died

My sincere heart felt sympathy

The pain, the tremendous sense of loss and the tremendous sense of hope for healing is felt all the way in Seattle, WA.

I grew up in Virginia. Many od my fellow NSHS grads went to VT. I, myself, went to JMU. My best friend from JMU has a brother in the engineering department at Tech. Thank God he is OK.

He was lucky...32 others were not. My heart is filled thoughts and prayers for the friends and families who lost loved ones on Monday. May they become your guardian angels in your lives. No one shall ever forget them.

I have spent many quality weekends on VA Tech’s campus a few years ago. And I know that the strong sense of Hokie Pride will see this school through these dark and sorrowful times.

I will be trading in my purple in gold for maroon and gold on Friday. Remember - JMU Dukes love VT Hokies!!!

All my love!

On April 16th, 2007 many lives have been changed forever.  Why is there so much violence and hate in the world today??  When will it ever stop.  I feel very sad for all the people who have been touched by this terrible shooting.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all, as is the rest of the world.

Theres no word to express this massive tragedy that was bestowed upon the hokie nation. Such tragedy has reached to the heart of all university through out our great nation. The way that the student and staff have handle such tragedy is a great example of unity that has been scarce after the 911 tragedy. We are sadden and in disbelief. May God bless each and every single one of you.

I was shocked to hear of the tragedy that occurred on your campus. You should not have to worry about violence in the education system. None of you deserve this, especially your fellow students that lost their lives. I am so sorry and want you to know that you to know that we are praying for all of you. Hang in there and dont give up.

I am a student at the University of West Georgia and would like you all to know that I am so grieved by what has happened. I would be so scared in such a situation. All the victims had so much to look forward to and because of a fatal tragedy have lost it all… As a student I know exactly what they must have felt. Please know that my prayers and thoughts are with the families, friends, faculty/staff and students of Virginia Tech.

My University held a memorial service this noon and the entire community prayed for those affected by this tragedy.

Sue from California; my prayers are for the souls of the young men and women who were so suddenly taken from this life. We all weep for their loss and send sighs of woeful prayers to the families and friends who grieve. The young man who did this was so decieved by evil. Jesus said. “This kind (of evil) cannot be driven out except by prayer.” -Mk 9:29 If only he had sought some spiritual help or been directed to that somehow. May God Bless All.

The North American Regional Office of the World Student Christian Federation expresses its deep sorrow for the feelings of panic, loss, sorrow, and anger being experienced among the members of the Virginia Tech community.

WSCF-affiliated students from across North America and around the world stand with all of those affected by the shooting at Virginia Tech.  We are, like you, devastated by this shooting and we know the deep hurt and loss that violence causes.  During this difficult time, we offer our deepest sympathy to the students and campus community of Virginia Tech, the communities of Blacksburg and Centreville, VA, the families of all of those who were killed or wounded, and the family of the shooter.

It is our prayer that a spirit of reconciliation, hope, and a belief in all that is good about the human spirit can triumph in the face of such desperation and destructiveness.  It is our hope that people of all faiths affected by this shooting will find comfort in their communities, their families, and their friends.  Our prayer is the prayer of St. Francis—that we may all become instruments of peace, and work to heal the many types of wounds that this shooting has created.

We stand with you now and in the days to come.
