My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time.  I pray that God gives you comfort and peace.  Please know that everyone in South Carolina loves and supports you.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Im in Scotland and would like to pass on my sincere condolences to all the relatives of the students who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy.

I can sympathise as we had an event similar in Dunblane where 15 children were shot and killed with their teacher.

I hope the university can recover quickly for the other students and lecturers to resume life as normal as possible. Once again we express our profound sorrow to the victims and their relatives.

I am sorry to all of the families of the innocent people that were killed in this shooting, I was just confirmed and will pray for you.

April 18, 2007, 2:03pm • Townsend, Massachusetts • #15867

At 54, I’ve seen many tragic moments in the history of the world where innocence was lost for no reason. Yet, it’s lost reshaped the world becasuse of the spirit that grew stronger out of love & repsect for those lost & those that came together in spirit to rebuild & make changes for the work that remains.

Sadly the events of the last couple of days are one of those moments where my spirit grieves in tears & pulls me closer to God for me & to pray for those that have been effected.

My prayers go out to all for comfort & the hope that greater blessings are given for all those that have been impacted by this event especially the loved ones of those lost.

I will never forget this tragic moment as it reshapes my world like those before in history but like Nikki Giovanni’s speech “we will prevail”. May God bless all of you.

I want to express my deepest sympathy for families and friends of those lost or hurt by the tragic events on April 16, 2007.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

My first thought when I heard about the tragedy at VT on April 16 was the poem written by Desanka Maksimovic called “Bloody Fairy Tale” based on a true event during the WWII, when the whole classroom of students was killed in one day. It shows not only the tragedy of the event, but the courage as well of those who died. I wish I could post the poem but I cant because its too big.

Again, my deepest sympathy, prayers, and thoughts go out to all the families whose lives were attained on April 16, 07.

In this time, think of the yoke. It is designed to distribute, not simply harness.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

And if I go,
while your still here…
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
-behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me, so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we we can soar together again, - both aware of each other. Until then,
live your life to it’s fullest. And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart,....I will be there.

I have two small children (ages 19 months and 4 years).  I look at their little pictures on my desk, they are so innocent and sweet, they are my babies.  It reminds me that all of those young people who were killed are someone’s babies and it tears my heart to pieces.  My heart and prayers go out to the parents who have lost their treasure.  God will certainly reunite them.

Another sad day in our school system,,
Someone choose to show anger in such a disturbing manner,
How to start his day,
Which should not be the American way,
So many lose of young lives,
As familys will always wonder why,
To those injured an lives spared,
God be with you for the rest of your years,
As on April 16th 2007,
One person using self will,
Left family an friends behind,
And Sent 32 incent to heaven,

To all Parents
Edgar Guest
“I’ll lend you for a while a child of mine,” He said.
“For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.”

“I cannot promise he will stay; since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over in My search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, not think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take him back again?”

“I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we run.
We’ll shelter him with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay;
But should the angels call for him much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand!”

The victims and families and the entire Virginia Tech community are in my thoughts and prayers since the horrific events of Monday.

This may not be the right forum for this and please post in the proper forum if possible, but I want to share my thoughts on some of the media coverage.

The fact that Seung-Hui Cho was south Korean or a citizen or alien has no bearing on the facts of this case in the same way that he was short or tall, thin or heavy.  This was not a racially motivated attack because if it had been, he would not have killed another south Korean person.  The only thing his nationality should tell us is that no race or culture is immune to mental illness.  What should be asked is how to diagnose mental illness early and get help for those who need it.
