As an alumi of Va Tech, this tragedy hits close to home for me.  It is a kindrid spirit that is felt when your alma mater or hometown is struck with such a tragedy.  Your memories of your youth and college days resurface once again.  The horror and sorrow that the families, students and friends of those injured or killed is unimaginable to me.  I hope that all that are affected by this random act of violence will find solace and comfort in the coming months.  My heart goes out to all of you.  We will keep you in our prayers and we will never forget.  Stay strong Hokies.

As I sit at my cubicle, at my job, making my rent money, cable money, new laptop money, etc money, I feel lost. How could life be so meaningless to someone? How could he just kill without remorse. how could he just decide that the people around him were not worth the precious gift of life that was betowed upon us by God, Allah, Etc. Why would he take his life from from his mother, his father. Unwinding their most priceless piece of work. It makes me want to cry. It makes me want to help him. Help the victim’s families. Wipe the tears from a freshman’s face. Help a senior get home to his family without pulling over to sob uncontrollably.  But I cant, because Im to sad. In my cubicle. At my job........

We are a family of numerous Hokie Alumni. My son has just been accepted as an incoming freshman in September and we were scheuled to visit this very weekend. Although he is VERY shaken by the tragedy that has sadly befallen your otherwise tranquil community, he has always felt that VT is where he belongs. As any new freshman normally would, he has many questions and concerns. HOWEVER, he will not allow the events of one unimaginable day deter him from following his be a HOKIE!
May God’s Peace be with all of those families effected by this tragedy and may it spread upon the entire Campus of VT and the community of Blacksburg,VA.

Dear Hokie community,
I am a mother in PA who will be sending her youngest son to college in the fall. My heart
grieves for all the families who lost a loved one
and for the entire Hokie family. I just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  You have shown the world what it means
to love!  At a time when you could have cried out
in chose to embrace each other and show the true spirit of God’s love.  You’ve shown kindness, grace and true brotherhood, and I’m very proud to say that we have such wonderful
young people in our country.  Please know that when your burdens seem too hard to bear, God will bear them for you. “Come to me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest”....that’s a promise God makes so take Him at His word and give Him your grief.  Let Him carry you in His
loving arms. There’s no burden to heavy for Him
to bear.
May God Bless you all,
A Pa. Mom of 3 young men

I remember the first day I visited Virginia Tech like it was yesterday. My best friend was a student there & lived in Pritchard Hall. Although I only spent a small amount of time at Tech, I could feel the energy, love and spirit of the entire community everywhere I went. Virginia Tech is an amazing place.

From the bottom of my heart, I send my thoughts and prayers to each individual that is grieving with the rest of the world over this horrible tragedy.

God bless you all,

To all the students and parents of VT, my heart aches for all. As a parent of a college grad and about to send my son to college in the fall it frightens me so. I can not imagine the pain and suffering you all are going through. My prayers are with everyone. God does have a plan, one we may not understand but we must not lose faith because it will be our faith that will help heal our hearts.

I think all universitys should have a siren alert system in place for students to be alerted of any danger on campus. Not all students are checking their emails and some may be in route to class. This may have saved lives.

All my prayers,
Michigan parent

Student of VT....
I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the heartache and sorrow each of you are going through. As an Ole Miss Rebel, I can’t imagine what it would be like to have someone do something like this on our campus, a place that is so welcoming and full of love. Please know that people all over the world are praying for you, and be strong.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories a lane.

I would walk rigt up to heaven

and bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken,

No time to say “Goodbye”.

You were gone before I knew it,

and only God knows why.

My heart still aches with sadness,

and secret tears still flow.

What it meant to love you-

No one can ever know.

But now I know you want me

to mourn for you no more;

To remember all the happy times,

life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be forgotten,

I pledge to you today-

A hollowed place within my heart

is where you’ll always stay.
