My heart goes out to all of the students and faculty at Virginia Tech.  I am and always will be a huge VT fan and I am completely saddened that this happened.  I live just 30 minutes away from Blacksburg and never thought something like this could happen in such a wonderful community.  You are all in my prayers and I know God will provide the love and strength you need to get through this horrible tragedy.  God bless,

The shooting has not only affected adults but future Hokies as well.  My son, who is now 5, is an avid Virginia Tech fan.  He has visited the campus several times and seen almost every sporting event on television with Virginia Tech involved.  On Monday he told me that Virginia Tech is on TV and a bad man is shooting.  “He said they are dead, aren’t they.  Why did the bad man shoot?” He grieves for all of those students, families, and friends.  I just hugged him while we sat for a few minutes thinking about our school.  So take some time to grieve and then move forward.  We love you Virginia Tech.  We keep you in our hearts and prayers.  And although we can’t be with you physically we are there spiritually.  Keep your heads high.
Sincere condolences,
Miyoshi, mother of Jakweil, class of 1997

Please know our prayers are with you.  We’ve been to your beautiful campus, and have a nephew that is a VT grad and so proud of it.  Your students have shown such class and character in the face of such a senseless tragedy, and it is clear the Hokie Nation remains strong and resolute.  This pain will ease, though we know will never be forgotten.  May God bless and comfort each of you. The Kansas State Wildcats are with you.  Go Hokies!

Although this is such an awful tragedy, it will be overcome.  The human spirit is an amazing thing. Seeing all of the students, faculty, family and friends come together in a time like this just reminds me of all the good there still is in the world, despite what has happened.

God Bless all of the victims and their families,

My heart is heavy with grief for the entire VT family.  A quote from the May issue of The Oprah Magazine that helped me and may in time give you hope:

“To be fully human is to believe in
something or someone, to know that it is
possible to face the unimaginable and
somehow put one foot in front of the other
until you manage to find home again. . .to
look for a sense of purpose, a few
reasons to keep moving forward when it can
be so very tempting to stay frozen in
despair, a touch of sanity in a world gone
off its rocker.”

I am a die-hard Clemson fan, but for today
and the days to come, “GO,HOKIES!”

“When a soul is born into our world the angels cry because they have lost a friend.
in our world,we rejoice, when a soul is born
But,when a person dies in our world, and their soul returns to God- we weep.
In heaven, the angels sing when the soul returns to them
So rejoice for the soul that returns.”

As I watch the TV broadcasts of this monumental tragedy I can not help but be in awe of the mature, exemplary, loving character of these young men amd women. The sense of community (oneness) expressed by the students, staff & families at Va.Tech is a beautiful thing to see. You are truly an example to the world who is seeing this. I will continue to pray and do what i can.

I have been watching the events of the past few days unfold, and I am deeply saddened by the pain that everyone from Virginia Tech is feeling. It is times like these that everyone at your school should be proud at the pride and the composure that your students have shown. As a student at a university, it is not the boarders that divide us during times like these, we are all here to think of you and to grieve with you. This is not just an attack on your school but also an attack on humanity. As President Bush said, people you don’t even know are thinking of you all the time. From everyone here at Brock University, we send our condolences and we continue to keep you in our thoughts.

As a mother of five and a sister to two, I cannot imagine the pain and suffering these parents and siblings are experiencing. May they all trust in the Lord and know that he is there with you through this time. As humans we may not understand why this tragedy had to happen but we must continue and have faith.
My heart and prayers go out to each and every one of you!

Im from the UK but as I sit here and listen to what has happened, I am painfully reminded of my childhood when I attended Dunblane infant school and I was in a class where several of my school friends and teacher were murdered by a maniac.
I feel your pain, I wish so much that this had not happened.
My prayers my heart my love goes out to you all.
Time does not allow pain too heal it simply shadows the feelings inside.
Talk too friends/family/loved ones dont keep it inside.

I live in Rappahannock County and am in the 7th grade so this news is hard to grasp.I have been a VT fan since the 5th grade so I have had to stand up for the school for a long time, but after this tragedy I don’t think I will as much.I think it’s terrible that you can’t even go to school and be safe anymore.Just like the football team the heart of a Hokie is strong. We will not let this bring us down.

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students of Virginia Tech,

I may have never set foot on your beautiful campus, but my heart is definitely there, and so are my thoughts and prayers.  When I was in college (I went to a small college of about 500 students), a dear classmate committed suicide.  I thought that tragedy was bad really brought the whole campus together.  In that regard, I can empathize with you all.  But I cannot even imagine what it must be like to lose 32 of your friends at once, and to witness such senseless violence.  Please know that we share in your loss, and cry with you.
